I travel on the M1 between Sheffield and Derby quite regularly. Last time it was 50mph on the whole of the M1 due to roadworks.popeyewhite said:

The pain of helping my mum fill out an application form last night. The form that must be filled out immediately makes an appearance at 11pm just as I am about to leave. Clearly there was no time in the previous five hours I'd been there was more suitable.
A two minute job becomes twenty because firstly she will not stop talking long enough for me to read more than two words at a time. Secondly because a simple question about her income is answered by "why do they want to know that?" "It's probably so they can tax me more blah blah blah..."

I now avoid dipping into there the same way I do with NP&E MIL who has decided not to open her letters (apart from bills) for the past 15-20 years, with no idea what is really going on with her accounts, and now we are in a scramble to sort it all out, and her nonchalant attitude to it all because she has no idea what she has.
