My boiler service was due in February but due to Covid I couldn't book one at the time. After reading your comment about July, I thought I would check the app again and to my surprise, it prompted me to book an appointment. To my complete surprise, it allowed me to make an appointment for this afternoon. I'll be honest, when the phone rang and the girl said "British Gas" I thought they were calling to reschedule but no, it was the engineer to say she was on her way.
You probably took my engineer laugh

The app won't let me book another service now as it thinks I've just had one frown

The way Microsoft has written Windows 10 to be more fluffy and friendly, in particular the way it refers to itself as "we".

In previous iterations, an error message would be worded something like this :

But now, a Blue Screen Of Death has a sad face and talks about "we", as if there's a team of personnel at Microsoft HQ scurrying around gathering things to help you fix your problems :

In the same vein, the attempts at "Humour" on signs.
It also makes them needlessly complicated to read as well

After a few hours on the BG online chat I managed to get a service booked for June. Better than nothing I thought. 0845 today we got a phone call saying an engineer was on his way ! Sure enough 20 mins later we had an engineer servicing the boiler.

Thanks. He was a subbie picking up all the work BG couldn't cover.

Indicators on modern cars!!!

I'm not talking about the ones that have a strobe effect - they're fine and serve their purpose well. No, I'm talking about the postage-stamp sized LED's in a just off-white shade, nestled in an acre of chrome bezzles and main light reflectors! Utterly, utterly useless!! Impossible to distinguish between and actual indication or a reflection of the sunlight until the offending motor is about 5 yards away mad

Buy Bovril instead.

It fits in the bin just as neatly.

Car lights on modern cars in general

DRLs and dashboard lights that lull drivers into thinking that they have their lights on
Those fancy new adaptive headlights that don't take into account the eyeballs of the driver in front, very irritating watching your mirror and being blinded from behind
Reversing lights that don't light up the space behind you so you can see where you are reversing
I sometimes wonder if car designers actually drive their products

I agree with these sentiments

Add in designers who create cars which require half the car to be dismantled to change a bloody light bulb

Professionally unemployed people with new cars annoy me today. PCP, not Motability too. WTAF is going on with this country. I know plenty of working people that can't afford a new car furious

That's been badly fitted. Some sort of halfwit did that, I reckon.
