interesting thread - problem for me is threefold:

I'm a fatty (hopefully on the way to changing but....)
I like long tees

those 2 are an easy fix with this thread. Sadly requirement #3 is a little more problematical

I like weird designs & some band merch so some research tonight

Pretty green , and Liam has got a decent sale on his tees.
Nothing to do with Liam anymore, think Mike Ashley owns it now.

I have the same issue, I'm not tall (5ft 8) but I'm more upper body than legs.
smile he gets about old Mike.

Son of a Tailor if the cost is not a big issue, custom made to how you want it to fit. Sometimes they have offers on multi-buys. Also there a remake guarantee, so you could take full advantage of them to make the cost easier to swallow…

150-200gsm cotton so feels great too. Used to buy plain burberry t-shirts to get this level of quality at triple the price, so to me it’s good value.

I've found recently that pretty much anywhere I look for a t-shirt, the quality of the fabric pretty shoddy and feels almost paper thin. I also have a problem in that I'm 6ft, but with short legs so most t-shirts I buy aren't really long enough, and of course the crappy fabric means that they get even shorter after a few runs through the tumble dryer!

Any suggestions for places to try please?
I am 6 2. Reiss are probably the best cost vs quality but be careful of buying their sale/discount lines as the fabrics are not as good. They really take a beating though, I mean, I have some much more expensive ones that have died months before the Reiss do.

Avoid Ralph Lauren Polo t-shirts at all cost.

If you want to pony up for some 'best of the best' t-shirts without spending over a 100 then Sunspel t-shirts are probably the best, if you have the cash.

Want funky but still good quality? Sundek t-shirts also take a good beating and can be found on sale.

Totally agree about the RL t shirts. Fabric is paper thin. I've spent some time wondering round outlet stores on 2 continents over the last few weeks and come to the conclusion that basically any high street brand (even the premium ones) basically make their T's from toilet paper. What's odd is that the shirt I've brought from car shows or from Finnegans garage or West Coast Customs have always been Fruit of the Loom or Hanes Beefy which have been nice and thick and lasted years.

6ft2 here and for plain basic tees I wear Large ASOS Design Longline and they're perfect. Little bit big straight out the pack but after a couple of washes they're perfect.

Relatively cheap too, especially if you buy a load when they have one of their regular 20% off site wide offers.

Another Rohan fan here.
Got several items and none have worn out over several years.
Few years ago I was in their Ambleside shop on Windermere and a shirt they did was discontinued. The girl phoned their warehouse and they had some stored away. She ordered it for me and it was delivered to my home back in West Wales a couple of days later.
They also do a repair service now.

Second this - they do seem to vary slightly across colours and over time though - I guess they have multiple suppliers.

Just to update this, I eventually stumbled across some decent long length T's at Cotton Traders. My local garden centre has a concession there and with the sale on they were £9 each. Perfect for simple everyday wear.

On the strength of this I placed and order.

You were right chaps - nice tees and a good fit for Mr Portly.
