I shall be lighting th fire, later. Bananafama, have you left any wood on th roadside?, I'll be needin' some.
I helped myself to plenty ,some I cannot lift ,rolled them on and off my sack barrow . Some of the smaller ones I actually carried home by hand .
Only bits I left behind were way too big to man handle .

that thread has outlived it's usefullness .

"Just take them FFS"

or

"It's theft "

Great to have such a choice .

I'll phone my sister ,her partner can bring his Sprinter to collect ,they're only 3 miles away .
I'm not delivering them in a Panda .

Edited later....I may not be posting tomorrow ,well it's today now ,I have to de frost the fridge .
and take a bath .

Good morrow fellow Trivialites everywhere wavey
It appears to be wet and windy here this morning, so spring has definitely arrived!!
I watched an episode of 24hrs in A&E last night, it was one of the most horrific things I've ever seen, utterly fascinating but stone me was it bad!!!

Lovely sentiment there Bomma, bit hard to follow sometimes when you're dealing with fkwits!!!

Morning all, dried up a little now so Asha will get her walk shortly.

Last working day this week for me, taking the grandkids to Wales later for a beach/castle/fun short break. Not sure Nana feels it'll be that biggrin

Two car journey with everything to go, so Mrs B is leaving early with Asha in the MX-5

I'm beginning to think that wemakeplanebits.com is very closely related to wemakeloadsofmoneyoffpeoplewithbadteef.com as i seem to be dealing with an ever increasing number of fkwits on a daily basis.

My phone didn't charge last night on the cordless charging system

It's early...well it is for me at least and partly because i'm having to do daily covpoxlurgy tests before i can enter the building due to the MD contracting it and not knowing and being stood within 2 feet of me on Monday
*sigh*

Morning all.

I'm very awake, as my phone rang at 05.21hrs with a flood warning. Which, as it turns out, was for somewhere else nearby, but you can't ignore these things.

My phone is usually on "silent mode" overnight, although it will allow calls from people or organisations in my "contacts", and the Environment Agency is one.

So I've just finished my morning bowl of gruel accompanied by coffee (in a separate mug), and I'm pondering an earlier than usual walk. Later today I'm orf to the chav magnet that is Costco to have a set of tyres fitted to my darling daughter's car, after which I might clean it for her. A full day ahead, then.

ION, I appear to have upset a delicate flower on one of the Formula 1 threads. I really shouldn't rattle cages on there, as every thread turns into a Lewis Hamilton fanboy circle-jerk, so I'm going to ignore that particular dead end of PH. It's a bit like NP&E, only more tribal.

Adios.

Morning all

Was woken at 02:36 and 06:23, strange that, by an ailing Mrs.H for a joint trip to the WC establishment. Needless to say I’m somewhat jaded today.

Wind has rearranged the garden furniture yet again, I must find a tethering solution.

Another day of staring into the laptop screen wondering what the hell I am doing and caring for Mrs H.

I can report sun and high gusts today.

I once made the mistake of commenting on how Superstar Mega God Max Verstappen threw his toys out the pram like a spoilt brat when thigs didn't quite go to plan at this years Virtual 24 hr Le Mans.
Jesus christ on a motorbike, you'd think i had accused him of the worst case of child molestation ever with the load of st that headed my way for that one.

I'm finding that PH is not the place it once was, granted back then it was a bit more zoo like in some of the antics but people in general seemed more tolerant.

As I'm not local to those parts, I googled - can't find Habitation on th map.
L'Habitation: small furniture shop just outside of Geneva.

(Nij's train took a small detour...)

A well put observation. I hadn't been able to put my finger on it, but this sums it up quite nicely for me.

Morning All. Many meetings today, but I'm determined to protect my time through the back end of the week.

Stop being antagonistic then. I'm not sure if you did that for your fun, but was those sort of comments really necessary? Then coming here to boast about it?
And it's not trivia wink so not for this thread

Welcome to the internet/social media these days. It's why I do my socialising down the pub.

Wait until you get anonymous letters to your house, nasty untruthful allegations to your employer, notes left on you car at car shows...
It's just a few though. Generally PH is a great place with great people. I even met Bobbers last year biggrin

Good morning all.

It's a bit windy out there today, but not a bad as up norf according to the weatherman.

A trip to Lidl (!!) is planned for this morning as we are running low on no-alcohol beer. Their bakery section is good too.

The pedal bin repair has proved to be rubbish, so the search for a replacement begins.

I spent much of yesterday morning trying to print some documents relating to our holiday. Needles to say the printer wasn't cooperating. I finally spotted the tiny button at the back of the machine which needed holding down for three (3) seconds and then all was well. Then panic as the interweb connection was lost. Then ten minutes on the mobile (the land line is now wireless so wasn't working either*) to Virgin to be told there was an outage (?) in our area which should be fixed shortly, which it was. 'Kin' technology!

That's all for now.

  • So it's not reallly a land line.

Thanks for cheering me up, Bomma, I really need it. thumbup

Yesterday was one of those horrific days I never want to see repeated.
They say bad things happen in threes. I could cope with that. But yesterday was somewhat in excess of that.

But hey, I'm still here, after a very sleepless restless night, exhausted and drained but still live and kicking. ( OK, not kicking. Much as I'd like to, I haven't got the energy.) However, it's a bright sunny day day to have a go at and make the best of, to try and wrest back some sort of control with some deep breaths and some deep meditation/medication/mediation.

I need a holiday. But it looks like I will have to cancel that, because I can't get affordable travel/medical insurance, and apparently taking a black bin liner and a couple of zip ties in my suitcase to Turkey in case I need to be disposed of just won't cut it with the authorities. FML.

At least today I have Robbopopping duties to cheer me up, collecting Big George and Robbopoppet from school and playing with them until Daddy gets home from work.

Onwards and upwards. smile ---> ^^^^

"NUL CORBORUNDUM ILLEGITEMAE" or something.

Have a lovely meaningful Trivial day. thumbup

I'm not naturally antagonistic. I'm just intolerant of idiots. And there are plenty of them on PH.

I do sometimes worry if this place is actually a microcosm of society as a whole, but then I remember to put things into perspective.
Internet forums (fora)? are rather like the old Victorian asylums, where people could pay to watch the antics of those poor bewildered souls incarcerated within. Except that there's no monetary charge for this one.

Anyway. It's stopped raining, and the sun is making a brave, but apparently futile attempt to break through the greyness. I've been out for one walk already, and I might get another few thousand steps in before I need to go to Costco. Wish me luck.
