They’re, their, and there - I mean it’s really not hard.

And the absolute worst for me is people “loosing” things. How can you get to be an adult and not get this right- if you can spell loser, you can spell losing, just lose the O, loser……

Threads beginning with something along the lines of "The initial message was deleted from this topic on 17 July 2022 at 17:38"

Invariably a thread started by a bluthering fickwit which rapidly turns into an amusingly massive car crash, but unless someone has kindly quoted the initial post early in the thread it can be difficult to deduce the cause of the wreckage.
Similar to somebody referring to a post from many pages previously, which can make the links a bit confusing.
At least quote from the initial comment, or a ‘refresh the memory’ photo.
Much better than a confused

How do we feel about quoting someone, editing their words, and writing 'FTFU' underneath?

It can be a usefully concise and precise way to express a difference of opinion; it can also be vague, unclear, or propagate the second poster's misunderstanding of the first.
FTFY is acceptable. FTFU should attract as a minimum mandatory public disembowelling , and the remains of the offender hung at the gibbet outside PH Towers - provided there hasn't been a recent spate of lose/loose abominations and the gibbet is therefore already full.

The spelling Nazis that basically just post to make themselves look big highlighting mistakes. There is zero link between spelling mistakes v intelligence but this tossers think differently.

It is sad because if they really wanted to make a difference they would become teachers (couldn't hack it)instead of correcting people on a motor forum .

If we're doing grammar, then no you weren't "stood" or "sat" there. You were standing or sitting there.

Just when I thought 'SWMBO' had gone to its final resting place I saw it again on PH the other day.

An awful lot more people get upset about an awful lot more things that you'd think.

The misspelling of "surely" is number one on my list.

Are some people genuinely that stupid?

The sad person, or persons, who set up a dummy account simply to ask a provocative question along the lines of "Who was right in this situation?" or "Is this a good PCP deal?" and the even sadder people who get into arguments with each other over the replies.

'Enjoy' WTF is that supposed to mean? If you can't put together a coherent reply and have to resort to this latest abbreviation and dumbing down then stay silent. I hate it in restaurants and loathe it here. Rant over, as you were.
