Thankfully, I'm told all the games will be played in the middle of our night so pubs that have TVs won't be full of chanting oafs.

Sadly I can confirm that that is not the case. At a carvery (council) at the TV is on with the 'footy' showing

Same here, cannot stand it. What is it with people that just cannot understand I don't like it and I'm not interested, "oh it's the national team, are you not supporting them?", NO!

No other sport are you expected to get behind your national team, why should football be any different!

No other sport are you expected to get behind your national team, why should football be any different!

And when people on holiday hear my Geordie accent, I'm usually hit with "well yous aren't doing very well this season are you?..." to which I like reply with something like "nah McLaren are way off the pace compared to last season" which usually leaves the football knucklehead scratching said head!

Really, I've never had a colleague/acquaintance/customer ask me if I'm watching "the cricket" of "the rugby", football though when a big tournament is on, it's constant.

Went to the Scot Vs Aus WC game at Twickenham quite a few years ago. By a bin on the street was some rubbish overflow and in there was a Harvey nicks bag
