If you're properly council, it's not a real package holiday to the Med without the clap.
Are they the same idiots that clapped outside their front doors during covid?

Clapping on flights.
I know this has happened for years on Easyjet, Ryanair and charter airlines but this was BA. I was shocked as was the nice middle class family sat next to me.

Wasn't bad conditions and everything was on time.
Surprised by this
When I charter a G5 to get to Magalouf none of the staff clap??
I suspect that the staff clap once people leave Slagalouf...

A missed opportunity. Ryanair and EasyJet should charge people for clapping on flights.

They were banned from leaving their house and they still clapped!

If you ever have the misfortune to travel from the UK to Orlando with TUI airlines (well I say Orlando, its actually Melbourne, a good 70miles from Orlando) there is always whooping and hollering on touchdown by the masses of the great unwashed. Its awful.

(I appreciate there is an excess of council in the above post, it is what it is rofl)

That s right. They really didn t like you shaking the bottle before giving it to them either. We moved anything that was abused off the medicine counter after someone grabbed a bottle of Kaolin & Morph and legged it. After we could sell Imodium it was redundant so I stopped stocking it.
Yup, I forgot to say we were always told to shake the bottle before we gave it to them. I was a 17 year old skinny runt (I m now a 55 year old skinny runt), and things could get a bit worrying when I did that!
My sister works in the Boots at a local hospital and they still stock Kaolin & Morphine. I related this thread to her while giving her a lift home yesterday and she chuckled while saying that they still give it a bloody good shake before selling it.

Interesting - is this in the UK? I thought it had been canned by the manufacturer years ago and was illegal to sell now anyway?

A round of applause for Rich Boy.
+1. It’s so annoying and most prevalent on flights to Eastern Europe.

Discontinued a few years ago - however given the poster referencing a boots in a hospital their dispensary may be specifically issuing a special preparation of it.

Availability was amended as part of the opioid epidemic IIRC

Back when I was doing my pre-reg in hospital pharmacy we had a special stronger formulation of Kaolin and Morphine mixture for patients with diarrhoea usually triggered by cancer treatments.

Boots may be supplying it or the standard formulation under certain agreed conditions and circumstances rather than on demand. As far as I understand it Boots branches are in hospitals to dispense the out-patient prescriptions to take the work load off hospital pharmacies.

I remember a very bumpy and windy landing into LHR. We touched town with a bang, steadied and taxied in. The applause was deafening. Well done the pilots.

In contrast a particularly spicy crosswind landing at KaiTak in the mid 90's (Have a look at some YouTube videos for those not familiar with the old Hong Kong airport) was met with a collective sigh as everyone who was holding their breath started breaking again!

Clapping on flights is matched by standing up before there's anywhere to walk to. Incredibly irritating.

With the standing up - unless I’m in business class or more, getting up immediately is essential to try and stop the pain / get blood flow back. Being big is no fun on budget airlines.

One thing that Ryanair gets right is the use of the airstairs option on their 737's. Saves the delay whilst someone sends a carrier pigeon to the handling company so that they come and put the airbridge on.

Appreciate someone trying to drum up business and being hardworking however it looks absolutely ste and should be illegal on a British street. It looks like like a Turkish holiday resort. There are homeowners nearby whose homes are now worth less than they were so this person can sell more vapes , cheap booze and fags. It s worse than council.
Really?

The alternative will be no services for locals, and a failing shop will be replaced by charity shops if you're lucky, or a chicken takeaway or Turkish barbers.

People like that should be lauded and supported.

I agree. I went into Liverpool at weekend to take grandchildren to Albert Dock and surrounds. Very impressive. But there were 9 miles of utter dereliction, interspersed by a few areas of ring road suburbia from the M58 so a shop of this type would have been a massive and useful improvement.
