absolutely this ^^^ we were driving down a country lane yesterday, and the amount of rubbish (including a bloody mattress!) was shocking

I live in a relatively rural location, but there is, unfortunately, still a 'local' McDonalds. Fly tipping is bad, but it is sporadic. The McDonalds litter, however, is a constant eyesore on the country lanes hereabouts. I don't know whether it's thrown from moving vehicles, or whether people park up in a nice rural setting to enjoy their feast. Very possibly both.

Interestingly, the McD has a neighbouring KFC, but I hardly see any KFC litter. Does a better class of person go to KFC? Or do they just sell less than McD, so accordingly less used packaging to be poorly disposed of?

Some time ago there was a proposal that drive-throughs should print the car registration number on the packaging. I don't know what happened to that idea.

I wish I knew. A good idea on the face of it, but of course would have to be backed up by some actual action and consequences, so maybe unworkable?

I would imagine that someone recognised it as being a really good idea, and likely to be effective, so it was dropped.

How can it be expensive? McDonalds already print a sticky label for every order. If you have table service it is stuck to the paper tray liner. Why is it any harder to put the sticker on the outside of the bag. So long as the number plate is relatively small it will not stand out and the scum are unlikely to peel it off only to dump the bag out of the window.

A lot of litter around bins is caused by squirrels and birds, maybe that's why the idea was dropped.

A person cannot be anything but Council if they think these stty plates look anything other than tragic.

Cost of ANPR cameras at every restaurant. Signage to explain why the number plates are being filmed etc etc all add up I would think.

My lane is a dead end, the tts must park up on it to eat their drive-through and then chuck their rubbish out of the window. Nearest McDonalds is four miles away.

I have noticed that numberplates with raised glyphs are also able to migrate between the bumper and the dashboard when viewed in 3D space. So perhaps there is a 4D component to them?
