Current high pressure in the south gives way to a messy low Fri/Sat. Then high pressure returns - probably sticking around for the festival of spooky candy

Very pleasant day here in the Channel, light winds and 15c, and a half decent sunset too.

Robin Hood Bay, Yesterday. Relatively clear on the coast. However, pea soup fog up on the moors, mixed with controlled burn smoke.

No fun..

Amusingly, I've just received a frost advisory and red flag warning for tomorrow morning - it's going to freeze and burn at the same time.

Colorado. Never dull.

It’s coming Jimmy, we’re hovering around 10c highs now , occasionally 15 or 2 , frosts overnight and a few hours of white crap on Tuesday , darn it .

It better be. I'm utterly sick of summer. 27c today, mid 20's over the weekend, 27 again on Monday. Admittedly the rest of the week is about 15 degrees cooler...hopefully.

Move to the UK hehe

Having said that my part of SE England is about to have a warm (18C), sunny week as we go into November. The weather seems to get weirder and weirder.

I am in Surrey and the weather is mild and the forecast is for temps around 15/16 degrees.

In November 2006 I was working in a London rehab hospital.

I distinctly remember that for several days the weather was so sunny and warm that some groups were facilitated outside, in the hospital grounds.

Whether (Weather?!) it's actually gonna be correct or not is another matter entirely!

That looks a horrific mess. Were the warnings adequate? Or, was everything just overwhelmed?

We're in the hills above Nerja at the moment and had incredible amounts of rain earlier in the week. We had planned to go to Málaga so we had something to do indoors but thankfully we weren't very efficient getting out so stayed put.

We did spot a yellow weather warning but judging by what's happened the warning was both late and over optimistic.

I moved FROM the UK in 2006. I distinctly remember not seeing the sun for seven months over winter.

Nice frost on the ground this morning. Life is good.

My objection is that summer here usually lasts seven months, as does winter. Yes, it doesn't add up, but that's how it is. This year, summer has been closer to eight months.

First off, commiserations to anyone affected in any way by the terrible floods in Spain. We happily complain when it's breezy enough to blow our bins over but this is another level entirely.

Back in the UK, the weather here in Romford, Essex is just plain dull in every sense of the word. Ok, it was a lovely sunny day last Sunday but apart from that it's been grey and mild. And what has happened to those cold, frosty Autumnal mornings we used to get around this time? It's barely dropped below 10 degrees overnight!
