Sunday is forecast to be a bit brisk here in good old CO; snow due on the Saturday to liven things up, then a high of 8 degrees, and a low of -9 degrees.
Not quite up to fttm standards, but those are Fahrenheit temperatures.
Where in CO are you fella? Not quite up to fttm standards, but those are Fahrenheit temperatures.
I'm in Denver / Boulder / Fort Collins in a couple of weeks so watching the CO weather closely!
Watching the weather closely is a way of life here. 9news.com for the...well, not a win, but perhaps the least loss?
Looks like Northern Ireland, IOM, Ayrshire, the Lakes and the lower Hebrides are going to get absolutely levelled on Friday morning.

I'm on the Northumberland coast near Amble and face WSW so will get it head on when it passes through here. High 70s mph gusts forecast here around midday but that's comparatively nothing to what the above areas are forecast to get. I hope it's another case of the forecasters over-egging the pudding to cover their arses and the winds are much less otherwise there's going to be a lot of damage.

So glad I'm not by the coast on Galway bay ... oh wait I am
This one is looking a bit insane and i always seems to be here when they hit
Start numbering your house bricks and roof tiles now...it'll make it easier to put back together on Saturday.

But seriously...it doesn't look nice from the models. Good luck.

Let's see if she gets here

I'd rather not be leaving a pile of rubble behind mind

Could be worse your house could be one of the many with excessive mica in the concrete they’re already crumbling without a wind to push them over. Let's see if she gets here

When is this supposed to pick up? It's not even mildly breezy here in Macc.
The eye is still out in the middle of the Atlantic but fast moving. Passing close to the coasts of Co. Mayo and Donegal about 2 to 5am tomorrow and then moving NE across the Hebrides and off the top of Scotland by late lunchtime. Bottom 'side' of the eye is where the strongest winds are. Not forecast to be bad where you are, only 25 mph with some gusting above that so just a blustery day for you. As Pugit says, it's NI, northern England, south Scotland and the Western Isles that are going to get the biggest hammering. South coast and Wales coast getting a hammering from about midnight tonight til breakfast time then dies down, but the winds inland from the coast are not looking too worrying, perhaps with the exception of the exposed parts of Devon and Cornwall.Edited by Tisy on Thursday 23 January 11:12
We were staying at The Groes Inn (of Evo magazine "fame") when storm Darragh arrived in December. They lost power in the small hours of the Saturday morning, so we checked out a day early rather than wait and hope power came back on (which was the correct decision as they only got power back on the Sunday afternoon).
They had to close again last week due to no water when the big main burst in the Conwy valley, so another potential battering isn't going to do much for their takings...

We are under a red warning, but there seems to be a distinct lack of concern here on the Isle of Man.
I have well and truly secured or removed anything that might move and done the same at my parents.
Social media is full of people scoffing at the warnings and giving it the old lines about its winter and what do people expect.
I hope they are right, but I fear some are going to be caught out
