Thank you Dan for posting your story, I cannot imagine the hell that you went through. The radio show link was very interesting. If I knew how to pm I would be requesting your prison diary.
Firstly, it has made me a lot more aware on the local country road. I have to admit that I have been rather pushing it (sometimes doing 60) around corners and blind bends. Being 51 I should know better! I shudder to think what destruction I could have caused.
Secondly, I cannot understand how a parent could let a young girl walk on a road without a pavement in the dark. On narrow roads with tight corners, you can often be blinded by oncoming drivers who do not dip their beams quickly, or at all. In those few seconds you are unable to see what is ahead of you, especially a pedestrian in dark clothes.

Did you ever document the wider prison experience, not specifically related to you and your case? I mean, what you saw, heard etc. Bullying, hierarchy, nice cons, bad screws, that sort of stuff.
I just told it from my own perspective. There were the good, the bad and the ugly all over the place on all sides, and one or two stories that would be worth telling, but I never really sat and wrote it down.Oh, and thank you to those who have been complimentary. I sound old? OLD?! Yep, that'll be me.
