Reading these reminded me of a Christmas or two ago when in Essex I happened across a purveyor of floral tributes displaying this sign:

'REEF'S FOR SALE'

The M3's and M5's I had were great (E36s, E46s, E34s) but the completeness of the 986 S is just staggering...

Amusingly, they've booked a further appointment in a weeks time if we're not happy and want to return it.
You'll get the hang of it eventually smile

Surely this one is in just about the only place that the shortened word should not have one?

(Couldn't get a photo, and this is the clearest shot I could get from Streetview. If it's not clear, I'm referring to the bottom line that says "Municipal Bldg's").

Love:

Comfort on a long journey across Europe.
Double glazing and acoustic glass - peace.
Driving position.

Hate:

It's pitiful reliability, eight dealer visits and three callouts in 9 months.
My perpetual fear that it's going to destroy itself at any given moment.
It's idiosyncratic attitude to my iPhone and CarPlay.

At the same time as the exclamation mark mostly used for emphasis by amateur writers with limited vocabulary or ability to express themselves.

I'm conscious I am the most recent poster to this thread, but: is it just me, or is it getting worse? It suddenly seems rife that simple plurals are getting the grocer treatment across PH. It annoys me (possibly beyond reason). It's also a sad indictment of either (a) the UK's education system; or (b) people just not caring to read what they've written before they post it.

I await online evisceration for a mistake I've not spotted.

There are some posters on this forum (not this thread) who can't tell the difference between a comma and an apostrophe on their keyboard. That amuses me.

Predictive text has to take a lot of blame. You type in a plural and without you seeing it an apostrophe appears. And its is just an apostrophe magnet.

I’m going way out on a limb here, but if there were 2000 Patriots, Patriots Day seems correct, as a bunch of Patriots were being celebrated, but if there was only one Patriot then perhaps it should be Patriot’s Day.
Take it easy on me, I’ve had a rough day.
