Being of 'advanced' years Peter Kay makes me chuckle when he goes on about normal everyday things,
Put on the big light
Old women mouthing when talking about sensitive subject ( Although Les Dawson
I can remember our neighbours doing exactly the same thing

BUT i agree with his tape recorder routines
When once running across the stage is enough but grates the 6th time he does it
Videoing the audience
There are others but luckily my inner concious blots them out

HOWEVER i envy him sitting next to Sian Gibson That is one i could crawl over broken glass to impale her on the old todge

I saw him live, and he is quite funny. Limited material, though, which he uses repeatedly on TV...definitely not a quick or spontaneous one.

Ignoring your initial comments, quite honestly I could care less about Peter Kay, (don’t get all bent out of shape about ‘I could care less’, it’s been done to death, and doesn’t bother me), I had to Google Sian Gibson, and recognised her from Car Share?, you are not a bad judge is all I can say, BUT, you’d better crawl fast, or you might arrive, and have to wait your turn behind me, but you won’t have to wait long, I’m probably older than you, and have been known to drop off to sleep before the finale.

is that why Peter Kay cancelled his last tour , as he realised he’d run out of material ?
He’s done to death his previous material. Eventually relying on music injected into all his routines including that car share thing. I don’t find him in the slightest bit funny now.

He is rather funny interviewing bakers on the bake off spin off show. Just abuses them really. I like his delivery. Perhaps that's it - he is 75% delivery...

Joe Lycett.

Who, you say?

Exactly.

He thinks he's Julian Clary.
Exactly! He's just a rip-off of Clary's mannerisms to the extent that I reckon Clary must be quite pissed off.

Luckily, he hasn't got the wit or intellect to come up with Clary's innuendos. Clary remains one of the sharpest and funniest wits on his rare appearances on Just a Minute. I don't know why he's not as active as he used to be. He's still got it. Lycett never even had it.

Other than both being camp their comedy styles are totally different. Clary is very sharp and witty and dripping with innuendos to the extent you feel grubby after hearing him talk. Lycett's comedy is mostly stories based on getting revenge in petty ways against various people.
To compare to two makes no sense, you might as well say Sarah Millican is ripping off Eddie Izzard because they both wear unflattering dresses.

I like him and found him pretty funny.

Also like Vic and Bob. The recent fishing show with Bob and Paul Whitehouse was great. Bob tells some very funny stories with some great nicknames, like his mate with the big head - ''snipers dream''.

An overheard conversation in the office gives me a deeper understanding of people who find Mrs Brown's Boys funny.

You probably already know this, but its women called Janet, Pam or Dawn who work in Accounts Payable, or Payroll, or just General Admin.

They're somewhere between 45-59 and don't have children, or children at home. They have husbands who watch Sky Sports "on the big telly" whilst they are relegated to the little freeview only channel set up in the kitchen whilst they cook dinner and do the ironing etc.

As such Mrs Browns Boys is the best they know about, because they can't fathom Netflix or Amazon or YouTube.

They then discuss it in the office because it is hilarious

First off, I’m not sure that I’d make it to half time, second, the Canadian may be Stewart Francis, I think he’s great.
I’m with you most of the way, but I wasn’t keen on Chic Murray, and I had to be in the mood for Max Wall.
Check out Bobby Slayton on YouTube, I caught his act in a club in Ybor City, Tampa, FL, cracked me up, but that’s me.
