Anyone see bob mortimers Chris Rea bathtime egg story on Lie For You?

Proper funny!
Thanks for that, found it on YouTube, sat here almost crying laugh
If you like Bob Mortimer's flights of fancy try his podcast Athletico Mince.
Ostensibly it's a football pod', it's not though.
Listen to him being interviewed on Richard Herring podcast. Another Chris Rea story about when he was on Shooting Stars staring daggers at Ulrika. So bloody funny.

Sarah Pascoe. Every time I see her on TV I have the urge to report her to Trading Standards for passing herself off as a comedian.

Joe Lycett. Irritates the hell out of me. Unfunny, and that accent? Mate I grew up in the same place you did, no one ever speaks like that. Ever.

I've just recently started to listen to this and it is properly funny, especially the Peter Beardsley parts.
I find him hit and miss. The worst I heard him on was Chain Reaction on Radio 4 with Vic Reeves. It's usually an enjoyable show: someone is interviewed, then next week they are the interviewer and choose the interviewee, and so on. This particular episode sadly descended from an interview into a self indulgent competition of who could say the most outrageous, random, off-the-wall thing next, like a couple of children who don't know when a joke has stopped being funny.
I think I'll swerve that one then.

I watched the Peter Kay shuffle program the other night and usually like his stuff such as Phoenix Nights, Max and Paddy etc but this program was terrible. It was just a load of short clips from his programs and stand up randomly thrown together with no common theme so I won't be watching that again.

Shes gone a bit too lefty / vegi / animal rightsie.. ram it down your throat all the time.

I used to like her stand up and fancied the pants off her. (when she was doing jokes about being shagged in a skip... which probably says more about me than her)

I’m off to the local theatre to see Jason Manford tomorrow night and then to the Theatre Royal on Sunday to see Michael McIntyre - really not sure whether to be excited or terrified at the prospect?!?

McIntyre, brilliant. Manford, dreadful.

I had the huge misfortune to be taken to see marcus brigstocke. The whole routine, or at least as long as I stayed for was brexit brexit brexit brexit brexit brexit brexit everyone who voted brexit is a & repeat.
Probably works in london, doesn't really work for anywhere else in the uk where you immediately alienate 50+ percent of your audience.

Compared to Manford, MacIntyre is brilliant. Compared to a bowl of soup though he's less funny.

Here are funny comedians:

Frankie Boyle
Stewart Lee

That's pretty much it. The only two I've ever found truly funny and certainly the only ones I've ever made the effort to see live.

If I had to choose a 3rd it would be Jim Bowen.

Subjective, isn’t it? Frankie Boyle is, to me, reasonably amusing in that he will say stuff that not many other comedians will have the cojones to say. On the other hand, I find Stewart Lee unbearably smug and sneery.

Been to see Jimmy Carr twice and found him unnecessarily offensive, purely for the sake of it. Can’t really blame myself though, as I knew what to expect, so only have myself to blame (was co-erced into going the second time, against my better judgement).

I’d rather laugh than cringe when I go to see a comedian.

Sickipedia did wonders for his career.

Jerry Sadowitz is very good. I've seen him live three times now.

Underneath all of the bile and vitriol that he spouts, there's usually a good message in there.

He was also one of the few people to speak out about Jimmy Saville, while he was still alive. (Perhaps that's another reason why he didn't get much TV work?)

TBH, he's always been a bit of a dick IMO.

He used to have his own TV shows.

He is very good live.

Amazing how tastes are subjective. I can’t stand Frankie Boyle, so predictable playground humour at everyone else’s expense in my opinion. Stewart Lee I can take or leave really, again a bit obvious.

I've taken the bait.... Sanctimonious is the word that comes to mind when I think of Stewart lee. Look at me I'm so clever etc
That is, to be fair, the whole point of the character that he plays.
