Nope, just got my first 3 out of the way, then treasurer, enjoyed doing the wt for newbies (who were 20/30/40/50 years my senior) to keep me ticking over on remembering.
the wt's - party pieces to make sure you know everyone is watching you wm for me next year...
I'll be another one looking forward to an invite
very surprised at how many other masons there are on PH! to the OP, ive been in since i was 21, now 26 nearly. enjoy it very much and have also joined chapter, but to be honest theres only one way to find out if you will enjoy it or not and thats to join and see what the crack is! good luck!

you can ask or be asked - nothing wrong with either way
despite what's been posted on this thread it's not a secret society but a society with secrets - if you knew everything about FM why would you want to join and progress?
the 'not knowing' was certainley part of the appeal for me, would have been uninteresting if i had already known what it was about.despite what's been posted on this thread it's not a secret society but a society with secrets - if you knew everything about FM why would you want to join and progress?

as i understood it, you arent really supposed to be asked to join. not sure if its against the rules, but it may be fronwed upon, however im not 100% on thisEdited by taldo on Wednesday 16th December 20:05
If you ask 20 masons what they get out of being a Freemason you'll get 20 different answers. It isn't for everyone but if you are interested in self-development, morality, honour and charity amongst other things then you will get a lot from it.
It most certainly is not a religion, nor is it a substitute for religion but it is true that you have to believe in a 'higher' or 'supreme being'. What that might be is your affair and you will never be asked. All topics of political or religious discussion are forbidden as is using your membership for pecuniary gain. Like any organisation there will be the one or two bad apples that are in it for what they can get out of it in business or other areas.
Any more questions then ask away - there isn't a lot we can't tell you about what we get up to but we may refrain from telling you everything so we don't spoil the experience should you decide to join. Some good discussion forums are freemason.com and Lodgeroomuk
