Yep! Just remember that the order is taken care of by the DC and the bulk to the words are from the opening anyway so you already know the basics :-)

Assuming you about to become WM - enjoy and very best of luck
Thanks PL. Just two more LoI to go!

No 179.

I m 39 now but joined when I was 31. I think a wide age range is a huge advantage as it prepares the Lodge for a strong future while maintaining its traditions plus if the old boys all doddered off and left masonry, who would we have to tease! Not sure why it seems to be picking up in appeal, but very glad it is.

GTO - where is your Lodge?

No. 654 (Warrant was in 1855).

I agree a good spread of age is best. What we are finding is the sons of many members are now joining and inviting their friends, two of my uncles are in my Lodge and one cousin! Only yesterday I approached my best bud about joining as he has expressed an interest and he wants to so thats another young'un involved. The future is looking good smile

Last meeting next week before installation then it's IG time woohoo

HAHA - we are older than you :-P Great to see old Lodges surviving.

Nice. Very excited for my next meeting as it will be the first time I have ever been in Lodge with a member of my family. My father and his dad both were Masons but sadly both passed away long before I joined. Great news that the future is looking rosey. Sad to see lodges struggling although it does seem to happen all to often.

IG is a wicked job! lots to do but not too scary for your first office, but I am sure you will do brilliantly. Most of all, as with all offices, enjoy it and know you can count on your Brethren for support, advice and merciless teasing of course!

(for those wondering, yes, I am VERY bored today, hence all my posts!)

Perfected into Rose Croix last night. Wow. Incredible, and I won't be forgetting that ceremony for a very very long time.

How long are your meetings?!
Thankfully double first has now been moved and one of the 2nds will be done at a later date. We meet at 430, like to dine by 730 at the latest and need a beer break between obviously!

We just got a bit inundated with work and were trying to work out how to do it all in our 4 meetings a year, which after installation gives only 3 working meets.

Not doing the IPM thing next meeting, being JW and doing a few other small bits so should be a fairly relaxed meeting for me. Loved being in the chair and highly recommend it but I am enjoying being a PM though :-)

Loi last night so all excited for the meeting!
Ah, that makes sense.

We have 9 total meetings, usually one installation and a business meeting, so leaving 7 working ones.

Usually meeting from 1830-1030ish. Late night for some of the old chaps!

My installation is in eight days... And I have been getting lots of emails from my secretary! Am only slightly terrified, but the IPM has so much more.

Good luck - you'll have a great time. It will take a couple of days for the "high" to subside!

Your centenary in 2017, we will all expect an invitation.

Have a great time on your installation. It will be a blur, so consciously try and remember things, unless you do it will all go in one side and out the other.

Never will a year in your life go so quickly!

We're doing a 3rd on Thursday. I'll be acting SD (JD, but SD can't make it, and I stood in as SD for the last 3rd, too).

Not sure if we're having an 'age' competition, but our warrant is from 1757! I was initiated January 2010, so missed the big 250th celebration. Aiming to be there for the 300th!

They soon get you into office smile Initiated in Jan 2010 and JD within in 3 years is going some. No good at selling raffle tickets then? wink

I was initiated in Spetember 08 I think, I'm just coming to the end of my year as JD. We're quite a small lodge, only about 23 regular members. (2012 if your asking)...

Nice to see this thread coming back up again.

We're a Marlow based lodge always looking for members if anyone's in the area and is interested in finding our more. Information costs nothing!

Am currently sitting in JW, but moving on in January. Then only a year eek

Done a 1st in LOI. First proper crack at a 2nd on Thursday and then to have a bash at a 3rd later in the year. Fingers crossed etc! We've got a third in November, so will be a little interesting as JW - something to do which is nice. Looking forward to the closing in the 3rd too smile

I attended LOI as soon as I was able, so after my 3rd. The earlier meets being used to rehearse my own 2nd and 3rd!

Acted as candidate on two further occasions that year for demonstrations, and went into IG at our December 2010 installation. I still sell the raffle tickets, now and again!

SD will be my role next year, but I already know it back to front, and have made a start on learning JW. Got the ‘Tools’ done (Old Working). Next up is the charge.

I also organised the entertainment for our Ladies Night in May of this year.

Just volunteered at the permanent committee meeting held last Friday to become an auditor.

I like being involved!

Good on you brother. Unfortunatly, I'm not able to commit quite as much time as I'd like to. Due to following my father in, I also live 100 miles away from my lodge which isn't ideal, and it can be a bit of a stretch to attend regular LOI's.

Enrole in a local one. Make sure it does your workings.
