I've been asked to join the Freemasons
Discussion
Busy times for me at the moment. I'm getting out and about acting as D of C for the Reps at a few installations (pencilled in for 11 this Masonic year, June-May). Also doing some tech stuff for the Provincial Stewards Lodge.
Coming out of the Chair in December, with a third degree to do in November.
I moved up to SW in the Mark on Friday night. I'll be the first 'new' WM in 6 or 7 years when I go in next year. Good ladder following me.
Off to see the SW of my lodge installed as WM in his mother lodge tonight.

Cool.
So impoverished under 40 male & female atheists it is then!
Our oldest active member is 89. He joined 48 years ago. Our youngest is 27. He joined 4 years ago. It can't be denied that there are more older members than younger, but there is a cross-section.So impoverished under 40 male & female atheists it is then!
The wife and daughter of one our members' are in the Lady Freemasons.
Whilst you do have to say you have a belief in a supreme being, I'd be surprised if every member genuinely does, given some of the people I know that are members. If they otherwise come across as a good person, then I'm happy to accept that.

One of the keys here is that this point is often a question, rather then interrogation for new candidates (that I have been involved in anyway).Anyone had much interest following the Sky doc earlier in the year?

Agree completely on it being a one-off question. Anyone had much interest following the Sky doc earlier in the year?
Congratulations on your Installation!
The documentary, I pushed that quite heavily on social media and on our website, even going so far as a targeted advert on FB. We got one candidate out of it, who happens to be a friend of a friend, anyway. Met up with him a bunch of times and he's a good bloke. He joins in January.

Anyone attend the RAH yesterday? It was an impressive show, and Grand Masters from around the globe.
I've just watched it. It's available for streaming on RAH300.orgA little self-indulgent in parts, but then, why not? It is the culmination of the tercentenary celebrations, after all.
Our installation in a couple of weeks and I'll be moving up to SW with my uncle going in the chair. Looking forward to the year and already reading up on the WM's words. I'm proposing someone to come in too so all being well with timings I'll be the one to raise him which I can't wait for!

I've just gone from SW to WM. It's amazing how much you just absorb - particularly the opening and closing.Although you have to decide what to gavel rather than just copy...
Guess who got their knocks wrong on their instillation closing
