RE: the elise story. I seem to remember soemthing about this. Was it a raffle that didn't quite go as planned?

Or was it a PH sanctioned one?

I forgot that I actually won a pen from Pilot. It was a gel pen.

Actually it was a very good gel pen, but thats the sum total of what I've ever won.

Going back a few years now, but I won a new car.. a Peugeot 205 GTi, in a Scottish Daily Mail Newspaper Competition.

It was one of those free, "put your name and address on the back of an envelope" type competitions and they were giving away a 205 car each day for the week. I was lucky to win and even more lucky that the day I won was the "special" day that the GTi was the prize rather than the base models.

(There was no cash alternative and the car had to be registered to me, but the supplying Dealer agreed to effectively buy it from me without me ever seeing it for about £1500 less than the actual value)

The biggest thing i've won is a raffle at the BTCC at knockhill this year.

We were part of the Ginetta hospitality and i won a podium hat signed by Carl Breeze and had my photo taken. I felt like royalty.

I won a toy Sherbert Fountain van in oddly enough a Sherbert competition. I enter the gadget show each week and and each week I don't win I shake my head and say no, but all the prizes they say they dish out, makes it too good an offer!

Not when it involves an Elise and a popular motoring website...
That's the 'Bin for you!!
Can somebody explain this to me.

I've heard all of the 'hush-hush', 'sin-bin threat', cloak & dagger whisperings (such as those above) for ages now and wish someone would explain.

I know that there was a (PH?) competition to give away an Elise, and there is some dissatisfaction with the outcome. Anyone want to elaborate further?

I entered a Fantasy F1 competition a good few years ago, the year where Fisichella won in Brazil after the stewards initially said Kimi had won. Thanks to that one change in classification I went from first to second. First place was a VIP weekend at the next British GP as the guest of Jordan. Second place was a signed Olivier Panis/ Alain Prost T shirt. Gutted is not the word- I have never enetered a competition since!
