PH Parents of 2012
Discussion
Merry Christmas toddlers and parents.
I put up a safer version of the Christmas tree this year and it wasn't touched..phew.
The boy's second birthday is coming up in a few weeks....time is passing by too quickly.
I would also like to add that I am getting bored of watching the film 'Cars'. I think a little someone would happily watch it all day.

Merry Christmas to all the parents and babies of 2012. I hope your little ones are enjoying it just as much as Noah is
Debatable Crimbo eve had us sitting in A&E from 12pm till 3am. Then back home for lunch then back in as blood was found in her pee pee. All her prezzies were opened on Thursday when she was discharged. Some RVA virus along with a little urine infection. Over the worst now but not eating Crimbo morn
Crimbo afternoon
Well, it's been a while and thought it would be nice to see how everyone is getting on.
Noah's speech is coming on in leaps and bounds. This morning he not only stacked his stacker cups 10 high and in the correct order, but also stated each of the six colours as he went along.
Apart from his very back molars, all teeth are through and he's started to sleep through at night (I've co-slept in his room with him to get him to do this). The only struggle we have is his lack of appetite ATM, some days he hardly touches anything
Here he is, at 20 months old last week with his non Chocolate Easter Present

Millie is doing well at 21 months. Very mobile, has slept through from 3 months but no speech yet as she is going to be bilingual so gets spoken to in French and English. Must be very confusing. Sign language is helping though.
She is doing really well on coping with a house that has been in turmoil since just before Christmas and now surrounded by boxes. One very happy girl, who in 4 weeks gets to move to a different country with freedom she has never known.
Really looking forward to giving her the best start in life and having the same sort of childhood as we did. She amazes us every day and is a complete joy to parent.
We've had our share of doctor visits and overnight stays in hospital, but fortunately nothing lingering. I hope all are enjoying the whole process of being a parent

Michael also still doing well at 22 months, just taken the side off his cot this morning (more to prevent my back giving out from trying to pick him up!) so will see how that goes. He's a chatty monster with an obsession with cars, although uncle Stevie's Ferrari didn't impress him too much yesterday;
No major illness yet *touch wood* and he's avoided chicken pox so far (5 cases at nursery and rising) with only the occasional light cold and high temperature once in a while.

Charlie is doing pretty well, we are coming up to a year since he was rushed into hospital (we've managed just a couple of trips to a&e since) the paranoid parent syndrome when your child has been seriously ill is difficult to overcome.
He happily cruises the sofa now (he has more supportive shoes as his ankles are still quite weak) vocalises a lot with lots of dada mama

Bless him!
Our Charles is cracking on. 18 months now, and he's quite a big lad. He runs all over the place, and has so much energy it's unreal. However, he doesn't really know any words, apart from "car" and a kinda "Mumma". I guess he's a bit slow, give that most on here seem to be saying a lot more?!
Oh, and I'm fed up with him getting colds etc at nursery. Half term and he's fine....back to nursery he has a constant cold/cough.

I wouldn't worry, Michael was permanently (and still is) saying "car" only from around 18 months. The vocab will expand swiftly I promise. It's usually either walking or talking that develops first, they can't handle 2 things at once
Are you the sort to pick up colds etc? Neither of us are but at the same time it will help build up his immune system!

And as if by magic "more" or "mum" has sprung out of nowhere! Are you the sort to pick up colds etc? Neither of us are but at the same time it will help build up his immune system!
Mrs C and I never really get colds....Charles has a permanent one.
I have to mention this...last night he was screaming in his cot/bed thing. Not crying, but really getting himself into a right old pickle. We left it for 10 mins, then I couldn't listen anymore so went to the rescue. On my knees I put my arms in and gave him a cuddle as he was standing-up. He put his head on my shoulder and almost fell asleep whilst I rubbed his back. I stopped after a minute of so, and he lifted his head and stared at me, as if to say "What"? I started again for another minute and did the same...he did it again!
Love him, took him into our bed for 30 seconds before it became clear he wanted to play...back into his room then!
I/We were never really into children, but god do we love him now...so cute, but getting very naughty.
Anyone else had the kitchen cupboards emptied all over the living room yet? Still haven't found the kiddies plate and saucer he walked away with the other day...checked the washing machine, the freezer and the maids room, but nothing!
Our 18 month old is just starting to string together words now. The other day I heard him yelling "MUMMY DRAW LORRY THERE", demanding little chap. "BUGGER" and "OI, NO!" also make occasional appearances, both of which his mother is aware she's to blame for.
We've got child locks on the kitchen cupboards, he's often seen throwing them away. No idea how he gets them off, I usually have to ask for help with them. Thankfully he's more or less sleeping through these days, that first year was tough - my wife said she's ready for the next one now, I'm not sure I'll ever be!

Oh, baby gates? Not a problem for him. He forces the latch open (without pressing the button in) then fights with it until it opens, and off he goes.
It will be locks next, which is worrying given we have a small pool etc. cannot let him out of sight for half a second...he's that quick!
Blimey, he is doing well. Michael generally strings a maximum of 2 words together! We started on numbers last month and in the middle of the night a couple of weeks ago he counted to 10 (missing #4) but nowhere close since, 1-3 is about the best.
I'm still running on the, is he happy, is he engaging with people, does he eat and sleep and if the answers are yes to all, perfect Which they are BTW....
Still not there yet with whether another is a good idea.
