Is to late to start this?

Currently attempting a clean bulk, up about 6lbs since starting beginning of september.

Following an advanced GVT type programme for 60 days and have generally upped food intake inc. carbs around workouts. working well so far. Aiming for a double BW Deadlift and Squat, bench is ok at 1.5 BW currently.

6ft and started at about 13.6st (post ibiza) very lean. Up at just over 14st now around 12-15% BF feeling much fuller / thicker.

Finding it much easier to put weight on from being quite lean before, not following a strict diet as such but generally aim for around 40-50g of protein per meal with veg / complex carbs. Having the Poliquin Meat & Nut Breafast or Omlettes in the morning and snack on nuts / meat / fruit during the day.

Stick to one protein shake a day PWO 50g whey / 100g Carbs plus creatine etc.

I don't think there is a day i dont have some kind of DOMS!

Currently sitting at just over 15st now, strength is up a fair amount since posting, probably around 15-20% BF will try posting some pics soon

I'd like to see you spend at least a year building mass buddy. I mean just focusing on the big lifts, a traditional bodybuilder diet and then not to change or deviate from the plan. I think chopping and changing is the quickest way to nowhere!

Lee
Yes, it's what I'm focusing on for the rest of the year. Not gonna cut for summer as such, I think, because I'm not exactly looking fat now. Eating up to 3000 kcals a day and slowly growing. smile

Plus I enjoy the challenge of heavy lifting, especially powerlifting.

And it's nice to start a session with energy rather than feeling knackered!

Wait a sec. I might not want to get bulky. (Like you wouldn't know about it if I woke up tomorrow looking like Arnie. hehe )

Yeah I get that one all of the time. I'd train like you but I don't want to be as big as you. Like it would happen in 3 months!

An ex training partner of mine - hen a skinny but keen kid (barring crap time keeping! Are you on here?) got massive really quickly, maybe 6 months. I mean, massive.

He was on the CIBA Geigy training protocol.

I'm pretty easy going so I usually explain some simple truths.

I'm pretty laid back until people do the constant you're on steroid thing which I'm clearly not. If I explain its just hard constant work and they insist otherwise I get annoyed.
Maybe you're not being asked enough. biggrin

I dont think its such a bad thing to have a rest anyway, up early for the gym and working on the house after work until late at night has taken its toll now im shattered.

I've been seeing the same girl for 2 1/2 years now and agreed we would move to a new place to have something that would be ours, which I'm happy about however this has meant moving to a new area and giving up my gym which I'm pretty gutted about as this was the place I've learnt nearly all that I know from and I've got a lot friends in there frown my girlfriend has been getting harassed in her current gym by some of the instructors and various dudes so I've agreed to go to her gym for at least a few months. I will make the problem go away but I fear I won't last in that sort of gym and I'm worried I will lose motivation.
Frustrating on both counts. She should train at your gym!

Or are you worried she'll bulk up?

Shame about your gym OC, it sounded great. A long shot but do you have any space for any weights at home at all? I train at work a couple of times a week for use of the machines/equip I cant fit in my home gym - all my main lifts I do at home and love it! I find I can focus more and I dont have to worry about all the stuff that pops up on the fitness moan thread.

Just a thought anyways smile

Sorry I was referring to drug free. Massive gains can be made with drugs of course.
I know - I was just joshing!

Sounds like you need a break buddy! Having a break is very important and taking a fe weeks should allow your body and mind to recover so you can go hard wight your training again. I think everyone should take a week or two every few months just to rest and recover.

You will be ok mate mine is certainly not a gym for BB types but it has pretty much everything i would need apart from a squat rack.

I get everything from old grannys to school kids in there i just get on with my own thing doesnt matter what everyone else goals are etc. The only thing i kinda wish for is someone with experience to give me tips etc but you more than no what your doing anyway.

So, here we are, the winter challenge has ended I guess smile
While I didn't get to where I wanted to be I'm still changing in the right direction, and it's an absolute bd trying to cut weight over winter, what with christmas and neaw year and easter all happening. So I decided to just do what I could and spend the summer months trying to cut as best I can.
So you all know where I came from a year ago. 128kg, XXL clothing, 44" waist, and not a lot of self respect or belief.
And so a year of body transformation challenges are done and here we go.
88kg
Medium clothing
36" waist
20% BF

This was the end of the last challenge:

And this is how I look today (with my shirt off, for the ladies who silently frequent this thread. obviously)

Here's about the best picture I could find of my legs, it's our joke of a warm up before the nuts challenge last month

And here's me staring down a barbed wire cargo net crawl about 5km into the same event.

So all in, I'm about 3 Kg off my target weight, but I've still got a lot of flab to lose round my belly. I know it's the last place it'll go so I'm just stickign with it. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep moving, hopefully this time next year I'll be where I want to be, but I realise now it takes time and a lot of hard work.
So see you in the summer thread.

I began my cut on Monday. I'm aiming to lose a pound a week. I did keto last year which whilst I lost a lot of fat, I also lost a lot of muscle. I'm aiming to cut much slower this year and keep as much muscle as possible. I've been on a slow bulk since August using the IF diet. I made good gains on it; put on a stone and stayed the same size waist. I'm coming off it now though as I'm scared of it being catabolic whilst cutting. I have no proof, but I'm not willing to take the risk.

My diet is made up of protein shakes, chicken, sweet potato, scrambled eggs, protein flapjacks, nuts and veg.

Nothing much to do really apart from bump it occasionally?

I can CnP the intro stuff from the two threads.

So, does everyone want a PH Transformation Summer Thread 2013? (And why didn't I just CnP the above title?)
