Are you sure about that, you can't seem to see the keys very well.
-8.25 here!
Faaaaaark! That has to be the highest (whatever you call it) that I have ever heard of.-8.25 here!
My glasses are around the -9,-9.5 mark, but ironically I can't see the prescription at the moment.
Been wearing glasses since I was about 16, left school with great vision, went to work in an office and apparently it was the combination of paper, computers and strip lighting that messed with my eyes, it got a point that I couldn't see buses till they were practically at the bus stop (I was in Manchester at the time and they were big orange, brown and white buses!)
Started wearing contacts after a few years, used the ones that you had to take out and clean every night, all was going well till I got pregnant with my first and all of a sudden had a very 'scratchy' eye, turned out it was calcium deposits on the lens, so I stopped wearing them, just got used to my glasses again.
About 6 years ago I started with contacts again (well until they do glasses with windscreen wipers!), use the disposable ones and don't actually wear them that often.
Am very short sighted, can't see my computer screen without my glasses (or lenses), but am finding that to read my kindle I have to take them off, but I think that's more my head position, as I am looking below the frames.
When it comes to my skid lid, have to remember to take my glasses off first (either when putting it on or taking it off), luckily it fits well with them on, didn't buy any with straight arms, just am careful poking them through the sides to put them back on. Biggest problem at the moment is them and my visor steaming up in the cold (or my eyes just watering like mad if my visor is open!)

I have glasses that were to bring my right eye up to scratch for an HGV provisional licence.
I had the right lens removed aged 18 due to developing a cataract after a poke in the eye when I was 11.
After having a contact lens for many years I had an intraocular lens implanted about 7 years ago but unfortunately I knocked it loose and had it removed. Last year I had the op done again and its over 12 months and no issues - other than a week after the op I rolled over in bed, opened the wound and lost the majority of pressure in my eye, a very bizzare feeling I must say!
Only wear the glasses when I feel like it as have 20/10 in the left eye - whether or not thats down to it compensating for the right seeing bugger-all since I was 11 I don't know, but I remember the doctor pre-implant asking me to read the Snellen chart but ended up reading how many fingers he had in front of me at about 10 feet it was so bad...

I have an astigmatism, had it since I was at least 2, possibly earlier, and my prescription hasn't changed in the last 30+ years.
I am supposed to wear them for TV, computers and close work - i.e. reading & writing. I don't. I only wear them when my eyes get tired and I can feel myself struggling to focus. Working night shifts, that happens quite a lot
Tried contacts last year, couldn't get on with them at all. I could put them in and take them out without any issue, but the whole time they were in I could see the edges of the lens in my peripheral vision and I hated it.
