Was wondering why there is always a bit of a lack of lockers at my gym relative to how many people are actually in the gym, always 75% or more are locked yes the gym can be pretty empty, always expect it be easy to get a locker, and its only the low ones that are available.
Until yesterday when I saw someone arrive dressed in their work gear having arrived in the car park at the same time as me and go straight to a locked locker and unlock it with a key.
Dont think there is a system for reserving your own so pretty sure people are locking them empty and leaving so its ready for their next visit !
That is pretty special entitlement going on.
Yep, I saw one chap come in with TWO keys for adjacent lockers, both stuffed full with all kinds of junk. Selfish s.Until yesterday when I saw someone arrive dressed in their work gear having arrived in the car park at the same time as me and go straight to a locked locker and unlock it with a key.

I can better that. Little Asian chap at our gym, whose clothes cannot use a lot of space, arrived empty handed on one occasion, save for the keys to THREE adjacent lockers.J4CKO said:

At my gym you have to bring your own padlock, and there are warning signs saying they snip off padlocks at the end of each week if they're left on there.Until yesterday when I saw someone arrive dressed in their work gear having arrived in the car park at the same time as me and go straight to a locked locker and unlock it with a key.

Works pretty well. I've never had a problem getting a locker.
At my gym there are lockers in the changing room and lockers on the gym floor. ON Saturday night around 1ish there may have been, thre other people in the gym, but when I went to the floor lockers there were far more locked up, it make make me wonder as Pure are meant to have a no overnight locker rule. Which irked me as I emailed the manager to request if I could use a locker for my KBs and stuff.

The Pure Gym I go to has the same policy (they're all supposed to). Previous manager didn't enforce it, so it was usual to turn up and find the lockers in the changing room "reserved" (one guy seemed to use his as weekly storage judging by what was in it). New manager put note on doors reminding users about the policy. 1 week later there were about 20 plastic bags by the office with locker numbers on them with the remains of the lock on top. Some v angry people on the Monday morning....Ian Lancs said:

Yeah, we do have a new manager, perhaps they are lax.I may test the water with a test unofficial holding...but having said that, they've recently upgraded to competition bells and the like.

Imagine if everyone asked if they could use a locker for their KBs and stuff...At the gym I use, there are loads of lockers but you still get some wkers take their st into the gym for everyone to trip over.
Last week, we had some tt in, who had some stupid big woolly hat on, along with his wife-beater and heavy joggers- no doubt to cover up his under-trained legs, as he seemed to be one of the muppets who only train arms....

DW Blackburn by any chance? Usually around 20-25 people in the gym, but out of 150 lockers, at least 75% are taken?Until yesterday when I saw someone arrive dressed in their work gear having arrived in the car park at the same time as me and go straight to a locked locker and unlock it with a key.

But I've done a 250kg triple squat and they're 34" round if that makes up for it?
My bag is full of kit I use though, PITA to carry it all around like I do at my current gym due to the no bag rule.

Went yesterday and even though the place was pretty much empty by the time I went, still fifty percent plus off the top lockers were locked, the lower ones arent at such a premium, its not a place you want to be having to kneel down in
They lack lat pulldowns, three in the place, one is broken and the other day wanted to go on one, one had a guy doing alternate sets on it and then fannying about with a kettlebell and the other had some pillock doing some kind of sit up variation on the seat, reckon they used them for fifteen minutes or more, same a couple of weeks back, guy is alternating but I just went on an empty pull down "Excuse me mate I am using that", so I say, "No you arent, you are using that one", he gets a bit tetchy and explains his routine, so I just say by the time you have you have explained I will be done and on my way, so he scuttled back and I did three sets and was on my way. Cant do that when the gym is full, unless you are on it, its fair game and if you are on it, you are either training, or resting between sets.
And another one is kids, charging round the changing rooms, and left unsupervised in the gym messing with some pretty dangerous equipment, then there are the blokes that parade round starkers for ages, have a shave, wander around, when there are kids about, ok, its the mens changing rooms and I doubt any of the kids would even notice as too bust legging it up and down but ffs, perhaps cover yourself up, either they are oblivious and seriously naive, or they get a kick out of it.
Good on you for using the lat thing. Bit cheeky to dominate several pieces of kit. People have asked to work in before and that's fine, and I have asked in the past.
I recall in one sawdust gym a bloke asked me to workin and I said no...I didn't realise what he had said and just automatically said no, or no thanks, then several minutes later when it filtered through I felt pretty rotten. That stuck with me forever, funny that.
The only thing I dominate now is the power rack. So when I'm on it I'm on it for a bit. My rant this week, some young lads used the landmine piece of the power rack, that's fine, sometimes ppl ask, sometimes they don't, but then they take the coloured O plates for doing some stty back row, when I'm on there using the plates and doing cleans. Now as it happens, I was winding down and didn't want the plate they took, but the lack of gym etiquette, awareness and basic common sense annoyed me, and then they wandered off and left the weight all there. That doubly irked me, I said a few words as I collected the weight but I bit my tongue on 'advising' them as I didn't wanna come across as a dick. I should have told them that if someone is on the platform, and doing what looks like Olympic lifts, then basic common sense will ,lead you to ask if they are gonna require the O plates.
clueless fks

Twice in two days someone has asked to "work in" with me on equipment at the gym..
What's the problem you ask? Well in both cases there was an identical piece of available equipment within sight.
I think one of them fancied a bum, where as the 5ft girl couldn't see across the room
Perhaps the 5ft girl felt that she and you were similar in terms of training/lifting aptitude What's the problem you ask? Well in both cases there was an identical piece of available equipment within sight.
