Gyms are absolutely filthy and I doubt them working out and then handling the baby is particularly good for its health.
Got to get rid of the baby flab pronto tho or the other mums in the coffee group will start calling you fat.

I think having a stting/puking machine would make it slightly more filthy.
Yeah, babies do make a lot of mess. And changing nappies in the weights area is mental. I don't wanna see or smell baby poo while working out. My Nieces and nephew's dirty nappies could clear a room out!!

The key to that is not to put weight on in the first place. I think a lot of people just use it as an excuse to eat poorly, so the shaming is probably deserved eek

Ridiculous. That needs to be resolved now.

Also, tell the kid in grey joggers to stop skipping leg day. He’s an urgent case.

I wonder what their public liability insurance would say about having a baby in the gym? You can be pretty sure that if something awful did happen the parents would be lining up the lawyers.

In my last gym I used to work out whilst my 2 lads (6 and 10) did athletics in the same facility. I would usually finish my session and wait for them. On the one occasion they finished first they came into the weights room and waited for me to finish. They were sat quietly on a bench and I was the only other person in there. The gym staff still freaked out and asked them to wait outside the weights room. Can't imagine taking a baby into such a place.

Spoke with the Duty Manager this morning - he's not best pleased. Forwarded info.

Problem is, most of the staff are youngsters. They're good kids but in their own words, 'we're not much more than glorified shift working cleaners & life guards on minimum wage'.

One of the female staff was actually working out while the baby was in there and didn't say a word and as I said in a previous post, another manager bottled it and wouldn't confront the parents of the last time.

I've done my bit now - however, if I do see this again, I guess I'll have to deal with the fall out of a confrontation.

Heard back from them - they're not happy, pleased I reported it and will do their best to make sure it doesn't happen again.

Snitches get stitches, or more likely a cast iron 5kg weight to the back of the head in the changing rooms....

I was made to feel about 2" tall recently when I complained about a teenager's mother who was sat on a chair observing. The chair was placed about two feet from the crossovers whilst I was doing flyes and the woman was answering her phone, talking across to the girl on another machine about ten feet away. I'm aggressive and sweaty and this bloody woman is nattering away and I felt like booting her off her chair - I mean wtf?

Yep, she was a carer.

And now she's not allowed in the gym anymore (H+S), so the teenager can't train unless one of the underpaid glorified cleaners they call a council PT actively monitors her.

Oops, how were you to know though?

Maybe offer to be the lad's carer when you're training...

They look more like skinny jeans to me? All the male teenagers wear them these days, it's apparently the latest fashion. The other kid has jeans on as well. Working out in a gym, wearing jeans? confused It's been a long time since I was last in a gym but I wouldn't have thought the owners would allow that kind of attire in the work-out rooms?

Quite right. The fact of wearing jeans tells you how much (how little) they intend to actually workout rather than just doing some cheat curls.

there was a trend in the 90s for lifters to wear jeans and workboots!

Generally I'm against it, but Arnold makes a good point, though relevant mostly to those who compete rather than to spam snapchat / instagram.

THt was really good. Love listening to AhNold, I ended up watching the whole thing. I have a mate who sometimes mixes in his circles, I'd love to meet him someday.
Worth checking out the full Arnold Blueprint playlist.

If I get to the gym before 8am there'll always be a couple of 'tradesmen' working out in those worky trousers with all the pockets, and safety boots.

For me, one for 'things that annoy me beyond reason' thread.
