the question about gloves is a obvious joke. there's no need for anyone to wear them. you look like a tool and it hinders grip strength. getting a callus? so what? that's part of it.
He asked I answered and to be honest I don’t give a fk what anyone thinks.

If I don’t wear gloves my skin literally peels off my hands and it’s painful and stops me going gym so I wear gloves.
Some observations dude...

The use of bars & dumbbells shouldn't, as a rule, literally lead to your skin peeling off.

So there's few potential factors at play here:

* You have a skin condition
* Your technique is off
* You have calluses but aren't keeping on top of them, and thus, tearing.

(but then you wear gloves, so you probably don't have calluses)

Either way, in isolation, if skin is literally tearing from your hands, there's an issue somewhere.
Exactly. Which is why I wear the gloves.

You've kinda missed my point man, but never mind. smile

Sure I mentioned it before but my gym was running some sort of fitness modelling classes early on a saturday morning.

Lots of hotties in the skimpiest bikinis you can imagine parading around in the studio upstairs.

Just FYI.

New moan time...it gets very annoying have to lug all this bloody kit around.

For a day squat - hip circle, squat shoes, knee sleeves, belt, water, little towel, phone with training program on, key for locker
For a bench day - hip circle, wrist wraps, water, little towel, phone with training program on, key for locker
For deadlift day - hip circle, belt, water and little towel, phone with training program on, key for locker

Problem is that i'm squatting and benching sometimes on the same day so then its - hip circle, squat shoes, knee sleeves, belt, wrist wraps, water, little towel and phone with training program on, key for locker

You don't need all that stuff, surely, I have a bottle of water and my phone!

A combination lock would be a start maybe.

It does annoy me how much stuff I carry. The alternative is keeping more stuff at work

I can see why people start taking over lockers. The small lockers at my gym are not really used. I could chuck my dip belt and rings in one and it would save me a lot of carrying stuff about, but if everyone did that it would ruin it.

on saturday someone beside me was squatting using a belt, then deadlifting. what did he do when he was done deadlifting a bar with 4 plates on each side? just left it. he left his belt too and went and did leg press the other end of the gym, never to return.

i saw someone that was hesistant to use the olympic power rack he had used and told the guy 'hey that's not being used, some guy just left his belt there, go ahead'.

when i was leaving i told the guy who left his belt there that he left it. he knew he had, he didn't care on the impact it had for other people.

I use my belt on dead’s at 100kg and above. For some folks that’s heavy, especially if you have older back injuries. I don’t take chances with my back any more.

Leaving the equipment loaded pees me off. Even after my last set of heavy dead’s once I can stand back up and have swallowed the vomit in my mouth I always unload the bar. Went to use the prowler the other day to find every plate loaded on it and straps tied to it left lying on the track furious

And even if you do, surely it all fits nicely in something called a bag that makes it easy to carry!

My gym supplies water, and I don't take my phone to the gym. Do I win a prize? smile

Same! I think I mentioned it here before but one guy left his bag in a rack so I took it to reception. He wasn't happy. Haven't seen him since!

Bellends that don't ask how many sets you have left, instead preferring to just ask if they can jump in with you.

Bonus points for having stopped me using the squat rack because he was doing straight-leg deads with the bar and then supersetting with the lat pulldown machine which is where he just forced himself onto the woman that was using it.

Use one bit of equipment and stick with it. Winds me up when people do this.

And before somebody pipes up with "but, but, my workout", where do you draw the line? 2 bits of kit? 3? 4?

Clue; it's ONE! If you ain't using it, it's fair game.

you sound like me, I've got different kit for different days. biggrin
what's a hip circle?
I've got three belts, one Velcro one I found ages ago, and two lever ones, one 10mm the same thickness and one 13mm which is tapered, which I bought when I used to deadlift heavy and couldn't use my same size one.
Had wrist wraps for years, brilliant for the bear and clean and overhead work, plus front squats; now I own knee sleeves and elbow sleeves. Got my bands for mobility, my Olympic shoes, plus my towel and logbook, on leg days I'll take the big bag and on push/pull days it's just be the small drawstring, as I don't need the shoes.
I also have a dip belt and gravity boots biggrin
the bum bag holds the padlock and small items. biggrin

My new gym that i've been at for the last 6 months has a dip/pull up belt and wrist straps. I've got 3 belts, all pronged belts and are just different sizes from when i was a bit "wider" than i am now and all of them were probably around £15 from a local health shop. At the end of the year, i'm going to treat myself to a lever belt and some new lifting shoes

I don't see a problem with this, I generally share my equipment with someone on every workout.
