Legs today.

Squats
140 x 3 x 3
110 x 5 x 3

SLDLs
100 x 5 x 3

DB Lunges
32.5s x 8 x 3

Hacksquats
90 x 8 x 4

Single legged lying hamstring curls
10 x 12 x 4

Seated calf raises
55 x 12 x 4

Heavy sets of squats were awkward, chest and shoulders were so tight from chest/shoulders/back/arms yesterday that I couldn't get my grip as narrow as I wanted, ended up being weird low bar/high bar hybrids as I couldn't keep my back tight. By the lighter sets though they had loosened up and knocked out some lovely high bar ATG stuff, solid arch all the way to the hamstrings hit the calves.

1.5 mile warm up run

5 x 500metres quick run straight into 500metres slow run followed followed by 20 pressups
Roughly 60 seconds between each set.

3400metres warm down run.

So just under 11km run in total.

4k run in 22 minutes this morning
Some condition exercises at lunch (burpees, skipping, treadmill, bear walk, clapping pressups, squat jump and lunges) and some core.

Not enough hours in the day to fit everything I want to do in.

Got to a boxing gym in Bury today.

Squats
1 x 10 at 150kg
2 x 10 at 155kg

Bench press
1 x 9 at 100kg
2 x 7 at 100kg - no endurance!

Pull overs - perpendicular to the bench
3 x 10 at 40kg

Incline dumbbell press -fked by now. Volume sucks!
1 x 10 at 35kg
2 x 8 at 35kg

Was nearly sick when I finished. It was a warehouse with no air handling and a very warm day. Think I probably drank a litre and a half of water.

pffftt that's not volume.

I tend to drink about 2-3 litres on leg days, finish a set and gulppppp.

Back and shoulders tomorrow but with added squats. Goal for the session is a set of 8 pull ups to behind the neck. I'll be over the moon with that at 245lbs.

Ha I'm aware that's not a lot of volume for some people but it's a lot compared to my usual training with much fewer reps per set.

Another easing back in short session.

Push ups on bars different hand spacings and angles, swapping every 10 or so reps after the first 40, total around 80 - lost count and was concentrating on the control and feeling of each, slow and deliberate rep.

Standing cable chest press - 120lb = 1 x 100

Is that a routine prescribed to you by a coach, copied from other lifters or your own design?

Oh, and why? Just why?!

Wow, VOLUME!!!! hehe

Friday is always a quiet one.

My effort (now at 81kg - need to eat more, feeling skinny)...

DLs
1 x 10 at 170kg - felt easy.
1 x 9 at 180kg felt easy, no idea why I couldn't pull ten. Will start at 180kg next time and I'm 100% I'll have it
1 x 7 at 180kg - bit fked for the third set!

Leg press
Staked for 3 x 12 - Feet at the very bottom, seat allll the way forward so my range is as big as possible and it was still easy, so I'm going to build the reps up week by week. 15 next time.

Lunges
1 x 10 at 100kg
2 x 10 at 110kg - faily comfy, just building stability before I start really testing the weight

Nordic curls
3 x 8

Ab roll outs
2 x 12

Standing ab roll outs (poor ones)
2 x 3

KB reach down
3 x 10 e/s at 20kg

First post on the thread....

Today>

Squat (beltless, high bar, deep)
3x 100kg
3x 140kg
1x 180kg
1x 190kg
1x 200kg
3x 140kg
3x 145kg
3x 150kg
3x 155kg
3x 160kg
3x 165kg
3x5x 100kg
Not much rest

Jerk (from stands):
1x 80kg
1x 90kg
1x 100kg
1x 110kg best jerk I've ever done- felt perfect!
F 120kg

Wasn't supposed to jerk today, but thought I would. Few tech changes and jerks were great, despite the fail at the end. Also changed squat tech, more 'quaddy'- felt great, much more to come.
