Rich Piana. Anyone (man) who wears more make up than a woman should not be taken seriously. A very strange chap is Piana.

nice vid on rich piana, maybe the first one I watched of his.
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCEr4irFkzHnhPt0uG...
Cheers, have subscribed to that channel - you have duplicated the link for what should be Rich Piana, BTW..

I never plan to enter competition, unlike the guy in the link, so have no need to 'bulk and cut'. I don't think that would be a good idea at my age anyway, a healthy diet high in protein and consuming on or just above my daily recommended calorie intake seems to work just fine for me. I will never have a 'ripped six-pack' due to excess skin in that area (lower abdomen)from having a near 40" waist - but that's something I cannot do anything about and have to live with - cutting to silly % body fat would be a waste of time..

Anyway, today's session: (lats very sore today, as I discovered when doing pull ups, must have been the Deads on Wednesday)

Back Extension - 2x20

Squats (no knee wraps or belt today) - 5x12-8 reps (4x12 and 1x8)

Bench Press - 5x12-6 reps (3x12, 1x11 and 1x6)

Power Clean - 8x2-1 rep
BB Clean and Press - 5x8-5 reps

Wide Grip Pull Ups - 4x12-8 reps
T-Bar Rows - 4x12-10 reps
Seated Pulley Rows - 4x12-10 reps

Face Pulls - 4x12-8 reps
Cable Preacher Curls - 4x12-8 reps

Thanks for all the kind words. The pain is bearable now so I did my first rehab workout.

Kettle bell swings: 4 x 15 (24kg)
S/s with cable chest flies: 4 x 10

2-way lunges: 3 x 20 total reps (12.5kg in each hand)
S/s with band pull aparts

Machine hamstring curls: 3 x 10 with minimal rest

Very gentle swimming to warm down.

Neck has flared up slightly but not much. I think I worked around it fairly.

Got a 185kg Bench PB today, faster than anticipated, so happy. Had a hand off, which helped I reckon. Onwards to the holy grail of 200kg!

Awesome stuff dd, really good effort. thumbup

My training has been really good this week, felt fantastic on the bike and the last three gym sessions have been very pleasing indeed, with the most comical pumps I have had in a very long time. 140kg bench press for 3 reps tonight, so my gym strength is definitely good. 200km on the bike so far this week, which brings up almost 7,000km for the year. Tomorrow will be a gentle group ride in prep for Tuesday's effort (weather permitting) which will be a 12 hour ride. Hoping to do 330 plus km with approx 4 - 4,500m of climbing.

1017Km & Top 1%

Should add I signed up on 18th Jan but it took all my runs from MapmyRun from Jan 1st as i'd struggle to do 100K in two days wink

Thank you all smile

This morning>

1 arm preacher cable curl: 11, + static hold
1 arm BB wrist curl: bar x 15
1 leg Calf press: 20 slow, 20 explosive
Ham curl: stack x 15, 1 legged to failure
Lever squat machine: 200 x 20

This is one of the easier sessions I do, but it killed me. Been feeling rough all weekend, so I might be ill... the wife is, so I guess it would explain why I feel so wiped out. Still, got done what I needed to do.

Wife and step-daughter are ill also, definitely something going around.

You introduced me to cable preacher curls (well, I saw your posts..), and they are my new favourite biceps exercise - constant tension from beginning to end, and a real killer!

I hate being ill.....I don't usually twig that I'm not well until I'm feeling better! Just assume it's an off day or two.

I think they're my favourite Bicep exercise also, much harder then DB/BB variations!

Ive got self diagnosed tendonitis in the right forearm (gym injury honest smile )

It's putting a real damper on my hammer circles and generally picking up anything heavy. Ive tried resting it but it comes back. Any tips on a cure? Biceps for me is after back (mostly) so they should be warmed up properly.

I had this a couple of years ago, took a couple of months to get better, couldn't even pick up our little sausage dogs without pain!

I did find that pulling down from overhead did not hurt the area, like for example, reverse grip pull downs, whereas any standard curl movement was out of the question. It should get better, just avoid any exercises that hurt it.

I think some people just arent made for curling. I have always (even when I was a teenager) got tendonitis at one or other end of the biceps if I curl heavy and/or often.
