What training are you doing/have you done today? Vol.2
Discussion
PT session in the afternoon rather than my usual evening workouts on my own. Pleasantly surprised by fitness level / work capacity.
RDLs: 4 sets of 8-6 reps @ 80-100kg
Super-setted with KB swings.
Weighted chins: 4 sets of 5 reps @ 5,10,15,15kg
Super-setted with 15kg overhead slams.
Chest supported row: 4 x 8 @ 25kg DBs.
Super-setted with 8 reps of straight arm lat pull downs.
3 rounds of pushing and pulling a weighted sled to finish.
I think 6 x 100kg is a PR for RDLs.

Deadlifts and beard trim today
Lots of dead volume @100kg, approx. 20x5
Finished with plenty of stiff leg deads, 5x10@60kg
Feeling it.
But looking fly.

I changed things up a bit this week. My normal split is chest/tri, back/bicep/ shoulders/legs. I really like to feel the DOMS the next day but my triceps are very difficult to hit that hard to encounter soreness the following day. I think it's because of all the pressing. They are just immune to stress and by the time I've pounded chest which is always sore the next day i'm spent.
Yesterday my chest was still sore so i just did triceps/biceps. 30 odd sets of rope extensions/push downs and overhead extensions. I can certainly feel it today
Now that my right shoulder is fine, I've developed the same rotator cuff issue in my left debt and my Brachialis in the right arm is very sore. It's definitely holding me back. A year ago i was shoulder pressing 80kg for 8. I can't do more than 60kg at the moment.

I find that CG Bench and weighted Dips work for me, regarding firing up the triceps, with the former being an absolute killer on the last few reps.Yesterday my chest was still sore so i just did triceps/biceps. 30 odd sets of rope extensions/push downs and overhead extensions. Don't force the issue with your RC, they take an age to heal. When I hurt my RC, it put me back at least 8 months (maybe even a year before fully healed), where OH Pressing is concerned

I have a strange one that I have had for a couple of weeks now. I must have let the bar drop a little too far when doing Squats, and it seemed I stretched/pulled a muscle in my upper pec. This was uncomfortable for a couple of days but went away.
However, since then, whenever I have my arm in a certain position, it feel like I have terrible cramp in my triceps (on the same side as my upper pec prob), and also get pins and needles in my hand.
It hasn't effected my training at all, and it doesn't hurt, have the cramp-like feel, but does when relaxing, it doesn't seem to want to go away. Could it be a trapped nerve?

I can get strange muscle pain after a lot of ab work. If I were you Chris I'd see your Dr. Highly likely you've pulled something and with quad exercises working everyone so to speak you just don't know. The feeling in your hands should be looked at in my opinion if anything just to put your mind at rest. I wouldn't say I eat a lot of cake etc. Just eat what I want. My diet is very good actually. I'm in my 40s. Who wouldn't have a few muscle related niggles if you pound the gym for 25 years. I think I'm very healthy.
It wasn't meant as a criticism, Burwood. I apologise if it came across that way.Burwood said:

Cheers. The last doctor's appointment (for my RC and lower back - both my fault and avoidable, TBH) took two weeks, and the referral to a physio was two months, by that time, I was all but healed. I'll wait a couple more weeks and see if it clears up by itself...
