Ahhh, I remember seeing this, and thinking one day I should post, this way many years ago. Well now I can. Due 5th April next year, we are 19 weeks tomorrow.
This will be my first, but my wife has two from previous marriage, aged 4 and 7, so we will have our hands full! Can't wait to complete the family, 20 week scan next friday!

So we had our 20 week scan a few weeks ago. All looked well, with the baby kicking and moving a lot. All seemed well until at the end the sonographer mentions he can see an amniotic band. Says the baby is moving fine and seems well, but you will need a chat with a midwife after the scan. This lead to me and my wife being led into a room where a midwife gave a brief explanation of what an amniotic band is and what they can lead to (in extremely cases, limb amputations in the womb)
I ask how common these are, to which she says they do see them from time to time.
The long and short of it all is a much more intensive scan tomorrow at the Heath hospital in Cardiff.
Having done our own research into this, I don't think it was a band the sonographer saw by an amniotic sheet, which is harmless to the baby. However, I'm trying to keep my wife from worrying to much as there's no reason for bands to form, and not much can be done if there is one. Could do without the worry though....

Well, I'm pleased the day everything is fine. No signs of any bands, the baby is wriggling away happily. Thank fk!
So my next question, how do you prepare a 3 year old that thinks she's getting a sister that she could end up with a brother hehe! We still don't know the sex and have no intentions of finding out, but our first is convinced it's a girl! All good fun.

We've the same issue. Our soon to be 4 year old boy wants a baby sister. Won't entertain a baby brother! We are finding out tho, so have 5 months to get him used to the idea (if a boy)

I'm tempted to do the same, but it was nice finding out when we had our first when she was born. I'm sure she will come around to a Brother when faced with one instead of a sister! We've the same issue. Our soon to be 4 year old boy wants a baby sister. Won't entertain a baby brother! Due early June here.
All scans have gone well so far.
It's our first so all a little scary and just a week before we found out we had just had an offer accepted on a dilapidated Victorian semi.
Other half is doing a good job of stripping out and making a start on refurbishments so I dont have too much to worry about.
We plan on moving in in early March so won't be buying anything for baby until much later on.
I worked out today that I only have 3 months left at work until my maternity leave starts! Its going to be a busy few months.

The wife just took me out for lunch. I thought 'cos the weather is so nice. Turns out she's 1 week over on the monthly cycle...and so we are expecting our....wait for it... 7th!
Not exactly what we wanted, having just sent the last one to school and started to get our life back after 4 1/2 years. I didn't ask her "Do you want to keep it?" Maybe I should have done, but I don't think I could live with that decision, although with her being 44 next year, obviously there are worries.
On the plus side, our eldest will be off to Uni soon, so there will be a spare bedroom!
Obviously unplanned, mistake seems to be due to the Personna computer thing getting confused due to time zones on our trip to India in August.
7th! SEVEN??? Holy cow. We have 2 - 3 year old and 12 weeks so I've missed out on this thread and that's enough for us. I couldn't even imagine 7 I would forget their names and birthdays. We welcomed our second daughter, Livia Daisy, yesterday. Giving birth looks like bloody hard work and Mrs lauda was a trooper. Hoping to get home today and introduce the new one to her big sister. Exciting times!
Congratulations!! We are at t minus 5 weeks..... my wife is now mahoosive! All the baby clothes have come down from the loft to be washed, the Moses basket has also reappeared. Really not looking forward to the lack of sleep again though! Thanks guys. Just enjoying our first daddy and daughter trip to Costa after a much better nights sleep last night. Can't quite believe we've actually got a newborn again. In some ways they're easy as they can't go anywhere or do anything under their own steam so you're not constantly on alert like you are with a toddler but the flip side is that they're 100% dependent.
She's a beauty though and I couldn't be happier. Just wonder how long I need to leave it before I ask permission to disappear for a couple of hours on the bike....
Good luck both with your imminent arrivals.

Just thought I'd check in!
We're expecting our first in June. Currently living in Georgia (the country) though, so its all a bit interesting so far in regards to medical care and arranging things. We were going to deliver here as well, but my company has said no and is sending my partner back to the UK (I will hopefully join her for the birth).
Arranging everything has been quite hard work so far! The system is different here, we've never done it before etc so don't know what to expect, and of course the language barrier...
Although maybe all of this is nothing compared to life with a small baby!
