I had an issue in the 15th of December when I went a bit light headed and my vision went grainy after eating my dinner. It lasted until the 17th when I was OK again. The same thing happened on the 27th of December and I have it ever since. The light headedness has got a lot better but the grainy vision is still there. It's like looking at static on a TV but not as pronounced. It is worse at night in the dark and low light situations.

I have seen my gp who felt that my blood pressure was a little high so I was prescribed ramipril. I didn't improve on this so I was prescribed indapamide instead as I have taken this before several years ago.

My blood pressure at the last check was still higher than my gp would like and I have another check next Monday.

I have had a blood test and that all came back normal, urine test and that came back normal.

I have had an eye test and I have better than 20/20 vision (I can easily read the last row unaided) and the optometrist couldn't see any issues at the rear of my eye.

I have lost nearly a stone in weight, hardly drink and have changed my eating habits since the start of the year but it doesn't seem to be doing any good.

Has anyone else experienced this? It is really starting to get to me.

Thanks.

Maybe something neurological?

Or maybe even this strange ailment.

The grainy vision in the dark or in low-lit places resonates with me to a degree. I remember when I was about 5/6 I used to see grainy, almost vibrating-like bits across my field of vision. By the time I was 8/9 it was gone.

I never said anything to my parents/doctor or whoever as far as I can recall; I thought it was normal night vision.

I get ocular migraine occasionally, and the symptoms could be described as grainy vision. I call it writhing glass worms in a patch somewhere in my field of view. It lasts an hour at most usually, and can be triggered by low winter sun.

Tbh I think it probably is visual snow. I'm seeing a specialist on May 4th who is more on the neuro side. It's odd as I have better than 20/20 vision, but this is just in the way and can make focusing a bit more difficult.
