One discovery I have made is a Protein shake for breakfast with some oats in, 2 scoops powder, half milk half water and one of oats keeps you going for ages, had it at 8 o clock and no feeling of hunger until about one, prob about 400 calories, dead easy to do, fairly cheap and if you get the right flavour, lovely. 400 cals of cereal and I would be climbing the walls by 11 am, its kind of about calories but equally important is the duration it keeps you satiated, if you have the breakfast cereal and then need a bag of crisps mid morning that is 150 calories you could possibly had avoided if you had gone with the Protein option.
Try the protein shake with water, then add an avocado plus spinach. About 300 cals and virtually no carbs. Lasts me all morning and I like the taste.

Dieticians and their scales are swinging by (geddit?) on Wednesday.

Not looking forward to it: travel for my grandma's funeral threw everything waaaay off track. Hope I haven't gained too much.

Still hovering at the same weight, go up a bit at weekend and back down in the week but from the 1st of June, no booze for eight weeks and going to refocus my training efforts, the last push to get down to my goal weight, dont think I can do it with booze in the equation, managed Jan without any so should be fine.

weigh in at the gym this lunch time...

Despite a lot of crap food (curry out Thursday, large elephant leg Friday, large stuffed crust dominoes Meateor Saturday) and a whole lot of drink I seem to have lost a little weight:

118kg's today, if not a little under smile

Felt doughy yesterday, a few days of booze and not being that careful saw me at 14.12, down to 14,10 today but it was a good reminder, got a weekend away this weekend so will have a few beers and the odd nice meal, loads of walking though and then to it.

A lady at work I have never really spoken to me came up and asked me how I had managed to lose all the weight, she seemed a bit embarrassed to ask but curiosity obviously got the better of her.

Hi, all I hope you don't mind another late arrival. I joined the original Q1 thread but tailed off I'd love to get started again and seeing as I get married on the 30th June I think its about time. I started out in Jan at 129kg at 6-4 and I'm now down to 115.8 so a decent drop but nowhere near as much as I'd like. Plan is to lose at least 6kg between now and the wedding, I'll be hitting it hard with boxing 3 times a week, 1 full body workout in the gym and at least 10k steps per day to get my activity level up.

In the past, I've been ultra strict then having huge blowouts/cheats on a Saturday night. For the next 5 and a bit weeks, I'll be having no cheats to see what I can achieve. Hopefully, I can learn something and you guys can help keep me motivated.

5'7, 41 and 103kg at the start of February. Down to 89kg on the 2nd April and 87kg this morning (although Sunday is my usual weigh-in day). Would like to get down to about 75kg which is where I was at the end of 2009.
Diet's been going well. I reckon, using the MyFitnessPal app I'm consistently in the 1200-1400 calorie range and on work days I'm walking about 5 miles. I've also started cycling again after an almost 20 year hiatus. The past week I've been on leave working in the garden including 4 days of heavy landscaping and I got three 10-15 mile bike rides in so the weight's been falling off.

83.5kg this morning which means, I think, that in old school terms I think I've lost 3 stone in almost exactly three months.
81.2 kg this morning so 22kg lower than the start of Feb. Still a good rate of progress and am maintaining a calorie intake in the 1200-1400 range but I'm having to up my activity a lot to keep the weight loss going. It's helping that we've just kicked off the step challenge at work so I've an added incentive to be more active.
Sunday weigh-in: 78.2kg

A little bored but still going. Almost 25kg down, 3 to go. I've been doing some concreting today and it's slightly hard to get my head around the fact that 4 months ago I was carrying around extra weight equivalent to one bag of cement, all of the time.

Thanks. Amusingly, I've reached the age where people's first reaction is that I must be dying. But I feel a lot better- just generally healthier and occasionally I can feel the "lightness" when I walk up stairs. A pleasingly odd sensation.

Back on this after a weeks holiday. Lots of walking limited the gains to just shy of 1.5kg so hoping to get back on it again this week starting with footy tonight.

Back up to 119kg this morning

Been averaging about 1500 steps a day over the past week and sat revising as I'm on study leave ahead of a big exam tomorrow.

Hopefully back on the wagon (well after the hangover) come next week!!!

I notice you've got my name on the list, and I've never replied! To be honest, I was avoiding the thread as I've made no progress.

Regardless, I am starting properly now, so I'll just have to work a bit harder to catch up... Starting weight of 87kg, weighed the other day.

Back to my baseline 14 st 8 after a couple of weeks of eating and drinking what I wanted, mainly, have booked the holiday and have a simple plan of losing 1 pound per day in the 8 weeks before we go. Didnt have a drink over the weekend and dont intend to before we go other than a night out planned. Having a target really helps and losing the booze calories will as well, also, not drinking avoids snacking on crap.

Am in my man shed most nights now doing some weights or on the cross trainer, will go to the gym tonight though as more variety and yoga pants wink

So, 14.7 by Friday is my next target.

Then, am aiming to get to under 14 and use that then as my top weight, i.e. aim to not go above that, the point at which I have to reign it in, dont think I will need to go much lighter, depends on how much muscle vs fat I guess.
