He's sitting around 26st currently and I think he plans to stay there for a bit. He seems to sit comfortably around there too.
He was up over 30 stone, though, wasn’t he?There’s no doubt that he would not have lasted long at that kind of weight. His diet was fairly astonishing. Great for getting huge but not great for longevity.
Maybe he will give up on the Worlds Strongest, but can't imagine him giving it up completely.

29st I believe, might have touched 30 but I don't think he went past 185kg, could be wrong! There’s no doubt that he would not have lasted long at that kind of weight. His diet was fairly astonishing. Great for getting huge but not great for longevity.
Longevity is the key, look at some of those still going strong like Big Z, Terry Hollands, Mark Felix etc.
For anyone who has Netflix / wherever else it's shown, 'Born Strong' is a good watch.

Strongest humans on the planet
Strongest humans in the disciplines required for the competition. Not sure any of them could win a handstand pushup contest/do a crucfix on Oly rings.Nobody wants to watch some 50kg gymnast do handstand push ups all afternoon.

‘Strong’ usually refers to absolute strength.
Single lifts? Do they do single lifts? Or d'you mean reps...could've sworn the bus pull was only done once though.ORD said:

Let's watch some sweaty fat hairy tattooed heart attack on legs grunt his way to lifting more than the next sweaty fat hairy tattooed heart attack on legs shall we? Incidentally as you haven't defined "absolute strength" I'll take it you mean feats of strength as observed in the TV programme, rather than excepted measures of strength such as single lifts which form the basis of strength world records Eddie holds a record doesn't he? That's one... . So, of the blokes featured in the TV program, how many others hold World records in recognised strength disciplines? popeyewhite said:

Absolute as contrasted to relative. Not sure what you’re getting at with the world record stuff.
It’s a contest for really strong men that can move a bit. It’s not some kind of world record holders party.

To me someone who can easily one arm press a reasonable sized bloke over his head is 'stronger' than someone who can do a bunch of press ups. I think that probably applies to most people definition of 'strong'.
You don't know what a handstand pushup is do you? Here's Eddie a few years back doing 50 100kg bench press reps in a minute or so.

I can recall Eddie saying he put on the extra bulk so he could get top points by pure strength, as opposed to creakin out endurance with resistance strength. He could still drop mass and go back his older base strength levels

Thank you, precisely the context of my original post, ie over several recognised strength parameters they are not necessarily the World's strongest men. Except for Eddie, that is. Any others?Halb said:

I heard a radio interview with him the other day - seems to have a slightly self-deprecating sense of humour. Came across quite well.popeyewhite said:

I'm going to write popeyewhite across my butt cheek or down my leg when I get there and wear short shorts, so you can be reminded of this whilst I'm sweaty Back on topic, I just watched the final all the way through and think Eddie simply put in a fantastic performance.
He was in great shape (in his own way) and looked to have more energy and fight than the others. Shaw looked a bit off in terms of his confidence from early on and picked up an injury, and Thor simply did not look as strong and healthy as he has in recent years.
Good on him. He does some weird training, though. Anyone seen that bench pressing video where he buffs his chest with a rotary polisher between sets? Utterly bizarre stuff.
