muscle strain or sciatica?
Discussion
Today I've had a lot of pain in my left leg after a few minutes of walking - also some butt and lower back discomfort.
Sitting down is fine with no pain.
I've been going to the gym regularly for the last 3 months and 2 days ago had increased the weights slightly and the length of exercise for upper leg strength. I didn't think I'd overdone it, but presumably I have. Yesterday, I was fine - would it take 2 days for the muscle strain to show?
Does anyone know how long this is likely to last ? I'm supposed to be at Goodwood for the FoS but I can't see me being able to walk from the car park to the entrance....which is a long way.

After visiting my GP, it is common for muscle strain injuries to appear some time after the action.
Still in pain, but get a few minutes of walking before the leg muscles start complaining. I'm using a 10% ibuprofen gel, ibuprofen tablets and the occasional diazepam ( was only given 7 by the doc as a muscle relaxant).
It states on the Ibuprofen ' read me notes ' that if the pain persists for over 10 days to contact your GP.
I went swimming today and used the hydro-pool to try and relax the leg muscles - is there anything else I can do?
