Cheers. Aiming for 100kgs by March. I've been put forward for selection to play for GB Masters rugby league against the Aussies so that's my motivation, whether selected or not biggrin

Thank you!

How am I feeling? Lumpy, so I don't feel that much smaller yet. Reading round, I may have to get below 18-20% body fat, at least temporarily, if I want everything to even out. I will probably have to take up weights to achieve that. Right now I am doing minimal exercise, but intermittent fasting with low carb/high fat seems to be the only thing that works, exercise or not.

2.5% is not an inconsiderable amount, and it's a big step along the path. How have you achieved it? Any particular plan?

I'd read similar about getting body to redistribute things a bit more sensibly. It makes sense!

I can't physically exercise, so it's only dietary changes and habits around food for me. Making sure to eat a sensible lunch so that I don't then end up doubling my intended calorie intake on snacks a few hours later, and so on. One biscuit and a cuppa, not three. Actually thinking about meals ahead of time rather than ending up eating a random assortment of whatever I could get a personal care assistant to chuck together in minutes.

It can be a bit harder when you've got someone else sorting your food, for sure. Have you ever considered low carbing rather than watching calorie intake? Everyone is different, but I know I couldn't have a small starchy snack like a biscuit without completely derailing myself. Low carbing just seems to involve a whole less willpower, in my experience, after the first couple of days of sugar withdrawals.

Another Friday, another weigh in and thankfully it's a loss. I'm down 0.7 kg to 74.4 kg this week which takes me to just under 2 kg off my target bounce I'm not entirely convinced I'll make it though as I've a couple of busy (read v.sociable) weekends ahead but that's ok as it's still a steady drop from the beginning of the year.

One thing that has been different this week is I've been getting really hungry around 5 pm which is inconvenient as I'm usually still at work at that time. I always have some fruit mid-afternoon and up until now that's sustained me until my evening meal but my stomach was really rumbling on Monday and Tuesday and my usual trick of drinking some water wouldn't make it go away. One of my exercise-junkie colleagues suggested a handful of cashews or walnuts would help as they are protein rich.

Bloody hell they were right. In the morning I weighed out 15 g of cashews, which is less than 100 calories according to the packet, and when my stomach started rumbling late afternoon consumed them slowly. They absolutely slayed the hunger pangs right through until after whatever exercise I was doing in the evening. I'll be picking up some walnuts at the weekend for a bit of variety

I find pistachios good as you have to shell them which also slows down the process and allows you to eat fewer. Generally I have fruit for breakfast so get hungry about 10.30am, I have a few pistachios and cashews which see me on to lunch at 1pm.
Also if you're doing exercise the extra protein can't hurt.

Still at 80kg, being away racing and eating Jonathan Palmer's finest stodge during the day and curry late at night was probably my downfall last weekend.

I'm getting fked off. Went to the gym Monday as planned, then had a training course Tuesday and Wednesday before the normal job Wednesday evening. I don't like going in the evenings as its too busy (plus I was asleep by 1830 on Tuesday!). Thursday I was late off and Friday I didn't get up until midday and just felt achy.

I've eaten ste because I'm annoyed I've not gone.

I know I'll go to the gym on Monday, just hoping I can find the motivation to go the rest of the week. I should get back with my ex so I go to get away from her...

Dreaded jumping on the scales today. But 119.8KG. 0.8 more than last week, which isn't bad. Less than I thought. I would have been happy it I was still 120.xkg.

I should be able to go to the gym four times this week. Just got back. I'm up early on Wednesday so no excuse for not going, Thursday I don't start work until 1400 and Friday I don't start until 1800. Saturday and Sundays are going to be rest days.

Am going to spoil it now though as going to TGI with a friend for lunch...

Well the plan was to go at 8ish...finally got there for 1030! Meant I couldn't do my full work out, but worked bloody hard when I was there. 7.51 miles on the bike in 24 minutes. I started doing two minutes normal two minutes fast, now doing one minute normal two minutes fast. The aim is to go constantly at my fast speed (above 180 whatts) for the 20 minutes (the last four minutes are a cool down).

It was stupidly busy though and really loud. Really don't like it like that.

Upper body today weight wise. Tomorrow its lower body.

Had a very lumpy 10 k for an industry charity last week.

truly grim 67 minutes smile

got two 3.4 miles lunch time runs done Monday and today - back hurt a fair old bit but got better. Today noticably better than monday.

Will go for a bike ride on Friday morning to try and introduce a bit of variety. Need to try and reduce my portion sizes now.

Weight has been pretty static so need to get serious.

I did squats today for only the second time in my life...they aren't too bad! Started off at 40kg for eight, but upped it to 50kg for the eight, ten and 12. Kinda finding my feet with the weights.

Wasn't sure how long it would take me today so did seven minutes on the bike first, then weights then 24 at the end. Distance wasn't as good as my legs were fked.

Back in tomorrow for upper body before a rest over the weekend.

15.1 at the moment, my lowest was 14.7 but dont feel half a stone or so fatter, must be some fat but am guessing some muscle has gone on, well hoping it has, dont think you can go and lift heavy things three or four times a week and put none on.

80kg again this morning but as above, I'm now doing weights 2 mornings a week as well as the bike/cross trainer the other 3.
I feel lighter and my belt now fastens on a hole I haven't used in years so I'm going in the right direction I think - hoping it's muscle mass replacing fat.

My weight has see sawed this week and ultimately I am up 1.4kg since last Saturday.

I have had upped my exercise, but had a social event and two catered work events to attend. I haven't gone completely off piste but I guarantee my carbs have crept up, and I only managed 1 day of IF. The kids have been very stressful this week too, which doesn't help with carb control

I have put on around 2 1/2 stone this year through over eating/eating crap. It's 3 months to Christmas Eve tomorrow so have set myself a goal of loosing 3 stone by then. This is approximately 3 1/2lbs a week which should be doable Have done a healthy shop today and am planning to do a 30 minute brisk walk every lunch time. Might require join Slimming World if only for the purpose of getting weighed so at least I can't kid myself that the scales are wrong every week (I am old so don't do kilos)
