Huel food. Any good?

Just started using Huel for breakfast and lunch, with a proper dinner.
Mostly using it as a way of avoiding eating a big sandwich, crisps and a cake for lunch, which I would probably do otherwise.
Lugging around 10kg too many at the moment despite a fairly active lifestyle (100 miles per week on the bike) so I'm hoping that a few months of this regime will put me on the right path.
I've been getting gradually better at mixing - just had coffee Huel with cacao nibs and a teaspoon of cacao powder, blitzed with ice in a NutriBullet. Went down a bloody treat, like a nice frothy milkshake.
How much Huel are you using? I agree with ice and a blitz it's pretty tasty. The recommended dose is 113g from memory which is circa 470 Kcal so in parallel would be tracking your calories so you know you're not going overboard with your evening meal.Mostly using it as a way of avoiding eating a big sandwich, crisps and a cake for lunch, which I would probably do otherwise.

I'm reaching the end of what I have. Still usually having one for lunch when at work for convenience but today I picked up a salad and sushi pack from Aldi that total was roughly the same calories as a Huel no idea on the macros balance vs Huel though.

Three scoops for each shake, 150kcal each, so 900kcal over the course of the day.
I'm not feeling *hungry* as such, but I am feeling a bit dissatisfied. I think that's the same with any new food regime though.
Are you weighing or just taking it as 3 level scoops? As (apologies if it sounds like I'm teaching you to suck eggs) you need to know what you're having so you can track the calories accurately. I think it's common having a liquid meal to be left feeling dissatisfied.I'm not feeling *hungry* as such, but I am feeling a bit dissatisfied. At the risk of co-opting this thread as my own personal Huel diary... I'm going to do exactly that.
My recipes are getting better and I'm enjoying it more and more.
Breakfast today:
Bit of water
Two handfuls of frozen tropical fruit (mango, melon, pineapple I guess)
Two ice cubes
Three scoops of v2.3 vanilla Huel
Pineapple and coconut flavour boost
Pinch of hot chilli powder
Topped up with a bit more water.
Outcome: totally tropical taste (sic). I'd probably leave out the flavour boost bag next time as it gave quite a synthetic aftertaste.
Lunch:
Splosh of water in the nutribullet first.
3 scoops of v2.3 vanilla
Half teaspoon each of ginger,
Pinch of
Nearly a whole teaspoon of
Half teaspoon hot chilli
Squirt of lime
A few twists of black
Couple of ice
Topped up to the max line with water and blitzed as before.
Outcome - DELICIOUS. Nicely savoury, the lime juice complements the tumeric and then the chilli gives a really nice warmth at the end.

How come?
The Ninja has volume markings on the cup/beaker which my Bullet didn't so it was much easier to measure volumes of liquid. The Ninja has the screw thread on the inside of the beaker while the Bullet is on the outside which is why you get a screw on handle to cover up the thread & make it easier to drink from. Finally the blades on the Ninja sit higher from the base so it's much easier to clean them.I wouldn't go back to a Bullet.

Waste of money.
Better off paying for 1 scoop of protein (17p), 2-4scoops of ground oats (5-10p), any type of liquid such as almond or cow milk (0-40p) , peanut butter (10p) or another fat source and a multi vit (5p)
You're looking at much better macros, much higher calories and 1/3rd of the price.
Excellent demonstration of why Huel is liked my many. Instead of pissing around with all of those ingredients I just put three scoops in a blender with ice & water. No messing about.Better off paying for 1 scoop of protein (17p), 2-4scoops of ground oats (5-10p), any type of liquid such as almond or cow milk (0-40p) , peanut butter (10p) or another fat source and a multi vit (5p)

I bought one of these cheap Breville Active blenders which has been a bit of a revelation. I buy the Unflavoured/Unsweetened, add either a tea spoon of coffee and half a frozen banana (breakfast) or a handful of frozen raspberries and half a frozen banana (lunch).
I bought two Sho aluminium bottles which keep it cold for 24hrs easily.
Prepping the night before seems to really improve the consistency as well.

If I choose to replenish once my current stuff is done this is what I'd be going for. After regular use I've found myself wanting to alter the taste
I find most of these drinks/powders way too sweet as standard, so U/U is working well for me. A 20p bag of 5 or so bananas that were too ripe to sell (always reduced bananas in shops!), chopped up and chucked in the freezer gives me a weeks worth of sweetening/flavour base that works with just about anything. On top of that a teaspoon of instant coffee is easily enough for a 500ml bottle, for example.Yesterday I popped outside and picked some blackberries to add to Huel, they have a serious kick!
I've just started with Huel last week.
Out of interest I googled 'Huel Pistonheads' and as expected, here we are
Despite the best efforts of my extremely health conscious wife, my diet can be poor, and I am a little over my ideal weight.
I'm one of these people who just thinks that cooking and preparing meals is a waste of time and effort. Consequently I just grab tasty, unhealthy, and easy things to eat.
I started browsing convenient healthy meal replacement options, as I knew I needed to sort my diet out.
Found Huel and decided to give it a go.
So far so good with my first bag of Vanilla.
I actually like the taste of it and preparation takes seconds.
Currently having it for lunches and some evening meals.
Lost weight already and feeling better.

I'm 5kg down in a couple of months, having between 1 and 2 Huel shakes a day.
Buying a smoothie maker was a real turning point. Green/Blacks cocoa powder and a teaspoon of peppermint essence was another important discovery.
I know it's most definitely not designed or marketed as a weight loss product, but a look through the comments on the Huel Facebook page will confirm that many people are finding it ideal for weight loss. Me included.Buying a smoothie maker was a real turning point. Green/Blacks cocoa powder and a teaspoon of peppermint essence was another important discovery.
As for flavouring, a teaspoon of banana Nesquik powder is my preferred option.

Equally as embarrassing, their customer base don't realise they could simply buy an MRP from any supplement company for half the price!
