I think I'm in the Keto Flu phase of this. I've a headache, feel a bit crap tbh, and I'm irritable. Being irritable isn't being helped by the wife nagging me.

Trying the Moroccan Beef Tortilla thing I found on Diet Doctor tonight as the mother in law is coming round and she's gluten free. So it's ideal for her really.

Won't be ideal for my irritability though.

Interesting in the GF and I have been on it maybe 11-12 days.
Been good albeit not 'counting' carbs, simply avoiding.
The only 'omissions' are our dry white wine consumptions.

I reckon the last four days to have lost about 1.5lb a day.
No negative side affects

The GF, thoroughly hacked off and drained. Lost nothing.
(the diet was her idea thank god ! biggrin)

Funnily enough it's the same with my GF. I have lost 11lbs since I started and she has pretty much stayed the same. I wonder if she is sticking to it properly...

First week or so back on Keto with thanks to the poster who recommended diet Doctor and keto fitness club for recipes.

I've lost half a stone already, most of which is probably water, but still, I'm fitting in jeans that were very tight a week ago and feeling very alert now the mild keto flu I had has cleared.

Mrs also feeling good although she's been having a bit too much sweetener to help her along really which defeats the point IMO, but that's up to her laugh

Just had fluffy pancakes made from coconut and almond flour for breakfast with some bacon, and feeling great, very full and satisfied.

I'm REALLY missing a sugar in my coffee. I've found that a flat white made with unsweetened almond milk has a slight sweetness too it, or certainly less bitterness than unsweetened coffee usually has, so that's helping.

About a month on, and I've now lost 1st1lb, and feeling great.

It certainly hasn't been easy, as I was having up to 5 sweet coffees a day before, sometimes with quite a bit of milk, but I'm getting there now and seeing results helps me keep going.

Waitrose also has quite a few good snack and treat things which has helped, along with occasional pork scratchings and chorizo and cheese rolitos..

I have only broken keto once, perhaps not a great effort, but a family gathering and much persuasion meant that I had some birthday cake and some Quiche and other non keto friendly things, but this didn't really seem to have much of an effect. Straight back on it the day after but found myself covered in spots after some sugar which was awful.

Upped my water intake a lot also and I've noticed that the dark circles around my eyes have gone.

Got another stone to go before I'm thinking about dropping the fat and increasing my carb intake slightly. I don't think this is sustainable as a lifestyle choice for me forever but it's certainly an excellent tool for weight loss and to break my sugar addiction and horrendously unhealthy eating habits and reset.

Eat bigger meals. Don't snack. The food you will eat in proper meals is much healthier. So is the extended time without food.

Not sure how you have squared "didn't really seem to have much of an effect" with "found myself covered in spots". Cognitive Dissowhat? hehe

Otherwise, good work. thumbup

Up your salt and drink more water, helps a lot with the initial flu.

I find Dioralyte helps a lot, tastes awful, but works instantly.

Constipation is normally dehydration whatever your diet. Drink more water.

Has anyone seen the relatively recent film about Ronnie Coleman?

I watched it a couple of days ago. There is a part where Ronnie is complaining to his nutritionist about feeling run down. The advice isn't food its water. That surprised me although they are on reduced water for competitions. Still it makes me wander if it really is as simple as drinking more water.

Day 6 for me. I don't feel great, a bit light-headed, and I had a headache most of Tuesday. I am not sleeping very well but that was the case before I started. I am gagging for a slice of toast.

I will persevere

And they claim carbs are not addictive. Anyone who has actually tried quitting them knows that is not true.

This does pass. Drink water, maybe with a pinch of sea salt in it.

A month done. Lost 3/4 a stone a the beginning, but not much since. Upped my cycling and can see the difference on the waist.
TBH, we are dialling it back from the zero carbs 7 days a week to a world of manageable carbs, taking the lessons learnt from the the time on the diet.

Had a few days over lockdown where I just fancied something sweet : don't get that feeling often and it seemed to coincide with occasions of stress or upset.

That being said, when I did give in, I really didn't enjoy it and it just left me feeling both unsatisfied and guilty :/

I'm about 5 weeks in to this, and I've lost 10kg. Had one week where I lost nothing, but then lost about 2kg the next. I'm over the flu now and I don't feel the hunger or the craving for sweet stuff.

I'm happy enough to lose weight at that sort of rhythm. I haven't really missed much other than a lager after I did the patio. But I worked constant throughout the day that I had a bottle of Pinot Noir to myself.

Word of warning - the headaches are nasty on keto.
