How long do the batteries generally last if you are using the hearing aids all day every day?.

Depends on the environment.

Like anything, the higher the workload, the more fuel will be used.

So if you work in a library, your battery will last longer than it would if you work in a very noisy environment.

Ditto using things like an induction hook -

A wee pro-tip...

Periodically dry the hearing aid mould and your ear. Moisture can cause the mould to move and this create feedback.

Just get a tissue and give your ear a quick run around, ditto the mould.
Everything is fastidiously dry and clean, fortunately I’ve got an appointment on Wednesday for a checkup. Hopefully they can sort it as I’ve already got used to it smile

Ignore me blogging, they've just replaced the BTE unit with a more powerful one and the feedback/whistling has gone for now.

Basically I've got a sub fitted and I love it biggrin

Cool! If you haven't already done so, buy the ear hook I linked to above.

Honestly dude, you'll thank me for this. Imagine listening to music in a *completely* sound proofed room, where the only thing you hear is the music - that's what that does biggrin

Not sure if mine is fitted with a T-Coil as I only wear one, I'll look into it thumbup

I can now hear in sort of stereo again and I've actually got some perception of where sound is coming from bounce

I'm excited as I know it will improve in a few days biggrin

You'll almost certainly have the T function dude. Whether you wear one or two has no impact on that.

If you wear one, just get the single hook version.

Edit: on reflection, if you only wear one and your other ear works, then the hook might not be much use to you.

Just found a manual, I think mine has optional 'direct audio attachment' option which I haven't got.

It's loads better than hearing in mono! biggrin

I'm grinning at your enthusiasm smile

Something else you might not twig about: be careful in the rain. Don't let it get wet, or you'll be up the creek sans lug.

Yeah, I'm loving it. I need to get a few spare tubes next week, I'd hate to be without it smile

If I start sweating in the gym, out it comes! I couldn't wear a hood with the first one, feedback central, this one doesn't seem as bad.

No tinnitus and I can kinda hear, what's not to like...

Audiology confirmed hearing damage so hearing aids ordered. I found it quite sobering to finally get to the point of needing two aids. Reflective walk back to the car.

Fitment 20 Dec - just in time for Chrimbo family gatherings! Baptism by fire!

Persist, it took about half a dozen trips to get mine right. It's totally worth it, I love mine. Noisiest pub ever last night, I could hear every word biggrin

Your footsteps and the loose change in your pocket will freak you out when you first step outside, it passes...

I take it your aid has directional mics / background noise cancelling software?

Awesome, isn't it? Real game-changer.

I get a lot of background noise and windrush but my brain filters it out. I'd rather have too much noise than too little. I can turn it down a bit but I rarely do biggrin

It's took a lot of fettling but it's about there now. My tubes don't seem to last long but my audiology dept are very good at letting me have spares.

I can remember my very first day with aids, I went out and bought a can of WD40 ??

The squeaking door hinges in my house were driving me mad. I had lived in that house for years and had never noticed it.
