Dave Palumbo on Cutler today dropping science for those interested.
Horsey...Not sure where you are in the UK.....British powerlifting finals later this month in Wolverhampton. You going?
I'll be there to support a mate.... If you and fancy a cuppa/shake/cake let know. :
I listened to Palumbo last night at work while trundling up the M6 was a good listen some decent nutrition advice in there.

Is anyone looking at going to the UK Arnold’s next year? First proper UK xpo for years should be a big one.

I'm in the deepest, darkest NW. So much so I can see Scotland from my bedroom window, handy to keep an eye out for them pesky marauding Scots.

I'm not going mate, but appreciate the shout. For the record, it'd definitely have been a cake.

What class is your mate in and is he likely to do well you think?

Ah, up north...In that case, nae bother, big man! wink

Open class 140kg+ Masters...,Yeah, I hope so...He's still squatting big numbers in preparation. 410kg+ with sleeves was the last I'd seen.

Yeah I just Googled the PL records. It's hard to follow with the federations, weight classes, tested or not, varying levels of equipment etc.. All I know is that's a heeeeeavy squat.

Ahhh, I think you've posted about him before. Just having another snoop on his IG. Excellent. Wishing him the best of luck, strong show and injury free.

Mad to think that his squat is almost the magic 1000lbs, which most people (myself included) regard as a good number for squat, dead and bench combined! There's some absolute units just out there, walking amongst us.

30 mins treadmill
50 situps

No time for gym after work, taking dogs to country pub to escape the fireworks.
Can't hear anything in there.
And to be honest me and the wife could use a burger and a pint after the last few days.

Just as, in fact more, important than the training. Plus, you still got some quality work in. Enjoy!

Stiff bar deadlifts for me tonight. Potentially doing deads up to 3x per week at the min. So it'll be normal deads, paused, some neutral lat pulldowns then my first play with the Cerberus "sandstone" bags. Gym have just ordered some more of the latter so I think going up to 140kg but I can't see me doing any meaningful training on that weight in the near future, that's my stone PB and that's with tacky and sleeves. Will be doing reps over 4' bar with 80kg tonight.

Cheers pal, we will enjoy!
Got a lot going on at the moment with both her parents quite ill, so we grab the quality time while we can.
Plus, the dogs will get loads of attention in the pub.

Today, incline bench on the smith machine, a few sets with a 100kg which felt way harder than using the Oly bar, not sure what it is to cause that, travel of the bar or poorly maintained machine cos pushing felt like an artificial resistance not nice, anyway did manage a top set of 108kg using some little biscuits, dips off the rings to finish

Then some walking lunges around the gym and a plethora of various types of pull up and L sits, plan to do a swim later once the tide has dropped.

Managed to train again this morning

Shoulder lateral dumbbell raises super-setted with dumbbell rear delt flys; narrow-grip pull ups (chest high) and finished with some grip on my 68kg dumbbell

Not much; but enough

I had bother with that intercostal pain again in the gym last night, had to cut session short. Weirdly the pain has moved from the back round to the front. Eased off mostly now but just gonna do some sprints again on the Zwift tonight and have a hot bath, leave lifting 'til tomorrow. Hopefully be able to finish yesterday's session then my planned session.

Catch 22 in the sense of if I do train, it hurts and I don't train well. But if I don't train then I don't train and I was supposed to be prepping for a little mini-comp in middle of Dec. If it's not right after the weekend I'm just gonna drop out and then start on my hypertrophy plan I had ready for the festive period.

Kind of annoying but hardly the end of the world, all things considered. Training just feels 'bitty' at the minute which I hate. I need routine.

Currently hatching a plan for where I wanna be in 2027.
