Knee now feeling much better but still stiff and sore. Clearly been overcompensating on other leg as my tendinitis on ankle/heel has really flared up over last two days back at work. It never rains but it pours eh? I can access a physio through work which will be much quicker than NHS so thats something. Will be in gym regardless tomorrow AM, first session this year!! Weight steady at 16st 10lb so good place to jump off from.
Good to hear you're on the mend, bigman...Slow and steady wins the race. Having access to a physio is solid gold....I'd be camped outside their office! hehe

HMS....Does what it says on the tin. If I were anywhere close I'd for sure pop in for a Predator handshake and nosey...Looks good.

Just found out the final stage of the 2027 Tour De France starts in our town...I don't follow cycling but this is going to be HUGE for the town and surrounding areas not to mention pretty cool to watch it all take place and see the action.

Rest day yesterday so just my usual daily walks...Will be in later, got a dinner date with dead lift and I'm not paying this time.

Funny enough, the first stage is ending in Carlisle!

Agreed, will be massive. The boys will need to make sure to lock their bikes up though.

No 1RM's for me!...I've been working on endurance, conditioning and technique....getting the reps in.

That was my thing over summer. 10 sets of 10 reps with 140kg. Draining but helped with fitness, endurance and overall strength. Irony is now I've dropped weight to become fitter, I'm not fit enough to do this as I made a mistake and dropped it from my programme. I've gone back to staggered grip no straps deadlifts and will persevere with the snatch grip deadlifts and rdl as these blast upper back as well as lower and hamstrings.

Solid work as usual, Bobby.

Them pullups are a fker right!....I've got them later. Each time I step up to the rack I feel like today is the day....Then I start and realise it isn't hehe If nothing else It's teaching me patience.

Today, shoulders today, nice solid session, hammer strength so steady warm up to 100kg for 8 the finishing on 140kg for 5 as a top set, then 25 reps with 85kg, stuck in 20 rep squat with 100kg and a single set of machine preachers with 77kg

Then a repeat of Tuesdays tour du Zwift stage, 37km got 17th from 400 starters on very tired legs so happy did an extra 13km pretty hard on my own to round it up to 50km training sleep and diet all going well.

Last nights pull session…

Deadlifts, Pull ups, BB bent over rows, chest supported rows, BB curls.

Was training with my son which I always love but I never really get super focused, so a mediocre session…I did enjoy the BB curls, reps of 7 each passing the BB to failure. He won hehe

Pull ups are coming along….in hindsight I Did too many warm up reps at -19 & - 12 and stupidly also repped them at -5 which meant I only got 2 unassisted…Next time I’ll skip the minus -5’s!

This mornings push session, on my own, dialled in..

BB bench press, Standing BB OHP, incline DB press, DB hammer curls, tricep dip machine, lat raise machine, cable curls.

Long ride for the week done. Slowly building back into the season. 100mins on zwift mostly zone 2 but also some threshold work done. Just leaves a 15km hilly long run tomorrow to tick off another solid week of training. Happy weekend folks!
