It'll be that way for a while most likely, I didn't think I'd suffer so hard mentally but as soon as any twinge or strain occurs I feel panicky. I'm just pushing through though and hoping for the best!
Tbh that's a good thing and If you take the view that a twinge / funny feeling is a signal not to push further, you won't go far wrong.

For what you are wanting to achieve - i.e WSM - you can't really afford another big setback - IMO.

Insanely strong dipping!
I think dips make a huge difference to pressing power, I'm just crap at them currently.

Tonight https://www.instagram.com/p/BnjrxrdhtM1/?utm_sourc...
230kg 3x8 deadlifts, 3rd set recorded. Moving easier now I'm getting back into it.

Need to do more recovery work though, never feel fresh at the moment, any suggestions apart from spending time stretching? (which I've neglected)
Even a big bearded man smashing the weights into the floor couldn't distract me from the woman squatting in the background. Most guys at my gym couldn't care less about squatting so it's nice to see some gyms, the girls are getting in on the action.

Stretching and proper warm ups and warm downs are something i need to start doing more as well. frown

You kidding me?

At my gym, most girls I see doing squats are doing 'em better than guys!

Although, my other observation is that a lot of girls focus on legs the same way as the bros focus on arms.

3x8 120kg bench. Big PB physically and mentally. Not sure how well it'll go when it's grinding reps....
WHat was your injury again, SNiff?
37 cheeseburgers in one sitting.
laugh tt
Tore pec off at tendon that attached in/near the bicep
completely off? I'm mildly surprised at you being able to do 120, do you still have 100% tendon connection?

FIrst workout of the week today due to horrible work explosion. Decided to do the hardest bits from the missed Monday workout mixed with the hardest bits from Wednesday. Not easy.

RDLs: 5 x 5 @ 92.5kg
Squat: 3 x 8 @ 100kg
Landmine press: 3 x 8 @ 55kg
Pull ups: 3 x 5,5,4 @ 17.5kg (missed a rep)

Face pulls, curls, triceps and abs to finish.

A new gym is opening near my office, so they have offered us four free bootcamp sessions over the next four weeks for free, the first one was today.

The gym itself is a buidling site, so we used the outdoor section. The usual bootcamp things - battle ropes, kettle bells, body weight exercies etc. Can't complain for free!

The gym is pricey, so I'm not sure how many of my colleagues will be joining - the only one who showed any interest today was the only director in the group.

She's actually pretty decent at lifting, form is really good!

They were concerned they'd need to make an artificial one but wouldn't know until they operated, luckily it wasn't needed.
Completely off but was reattached.
NHS did it.

I bet that hurt like a bd. I tore a vein in my quad which clotted, years ago. Never forget the pain. Glad you’re good to go smile

Post surgery however, definitely!

Deadlifts - Deload week
5 x 75kg
5 x 95kg
5 x 112.5kg
Each set of 5 was done with a conventional deadlift and then immediately went into a set of 5 sumo deadlift. Sumo definitely felt a bit weird but will slowly look at transitioning over to sumo over the next few months, basically doing them side by side with sumo at the lighter weights and higher reps on a Sunday and big heavy conventional on a Thursday night.

Squats
10, 10, 2 x 95kg. Every rep I take with squats, irrespective of weight, I am bracing and holding my breath for every rep and it's getting to a point where by the 3rd set onwards, my head feels like it's about to explode. I think with the higher reps, lower weight sets for squats, I'll need to look at my breathing.

Hip Raises
3 x 15 50kg

Planque
5 x 45sec

Taking the weekend off, so today was just a muck about. Still resting my lower back and quads.

Standing Strict: 110kg x 3
GHR: 3x 21's
Cable fly 4x F

done. 21's on the GHR is a great idea! moved my feet for each set, definitely changes the emphasis from hams to glutes- it's a keeper. Strict can't be far off a PB, but my body feels pretty beaten up just now, so some rest, and i'll smash that.

yeah, I had partial connection so was talked out of an op, they talked about maybe taking tendon from a leg. Looking back not sure if that was the right thing or not.

I told them what I did and what they recommended. They told me there was a chance the op wouldn't work but it was successful and the surgeon reckons it'll be 95% as strong as it was, would have been around 70% as strong leaving it.
I took the surgery, worst case I was cut open, best case is what I have now thankfully.

Yeah, I was told the same, and the surgeon sort of leaned to, you've got partial, why go in and mess about.

If it helps - when I do warm up sets of 5 for squats, I'll breath in and hold and pump two or three out, then rest a sec, new breath and do another two on the same breath. That might help.

I guess for you it came down to why you need/want it.
If I just went to the gym for fun I'd have a hard decision but would have most likely gone for surgery anyway.
Have you looked into peptides at all? I don't know if it's too late to help?

Doesn't affect me to the same practical degree as you, but it still affects me somewhat. I felt the surgeon was nudging me towards no surgery, and my fear of the risks of it being worse, was enough to 'settle' it. PT Welshe still has 100% connection of tendon, and good strength, but it's also about look. A private surgeon did point out in my pec where the tendon had recoiled to, he could find it with his finger. If I had the cash I'd probably do it, but the cash and having time off from being able to do stuff is a big hamper.
What could peptides do?
In rewaching Rocky 3 a few weeks ago, I noticed (never noticed this before) that Sly must have had a major pec tear

PT Welsh bounces back after every injury stronger each time.
I don't know if they could help now, I don't know much about them.
They're recommended for tears and I believe niggles but don't quote me on that.
If I get injured badly again I'll be using them to heal quicker, hopefully won't be needed though.
