I’ve read several times that lifts at high % are more taxing the stronger you get. A 90% deadlift is well under double bodyweight for me.

Revelation: I’ve been benching too narrow my whole adult life. I moved my hands out roughly an inch and was immediately much stronger. The position also felt more natural. Oh.

My bench only went up when I went wide and used the pecs properly! And it’s when my chest started growing- took a bit of relearning- but i flare, and touch high- and it’s the strongest it’s ever been, with some tangible chest growth. Prior to that it was pretty much a delt/triceps movement, and I didn’t realise.

Same. I realised some years ago when I looked at a lot of videos on youtube comparing bench techniques. I'd always been almost a narrow-grip bencher, and my triceps bench was insanely narrow. I went out wide...I think PL regulation width is too wide but I go for a median...but if I don't focus I automatically go back to my old width, where my thumbs can touch the smooth part of the bar.
I have started to slowly edge out my width to an agreeable mean, but it makes me feel more naked with only ¼ tendon on one side.

I too feel vulnerable when going wider because of the tendon, I opt for a inbetween, triceps do most of the work though.

I am changing what I do, started going to classes at the gym and its a revelation, no thinking about what to do you just get told to do it and crack on.

Been doing Kettlebells and its made me realise how a lot of the time I just piss about, really good combination of some resistance but introducing more stamina and core stuff, noticing my fitness improve over time.

The missus has said to come to a Circuit training class as well on Monday, she has gone from a nigh on 13 stone and not very fit to 9 stone and really pretty fit.

Once you get over the fact its not weights and all blokes, its great.

Strong front squat that!
I can't do them very well, my neck is too big and my shoulders too small to sit back enough to not slip off as I go heavier laugh

110kg x8 axle clean and press in a minute PB
I've got 4 months to get this to 140kg, will be interesting to see if that happens. This was after my moving events so fatigued as well.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B47y8d_gPHS/?igshid=1v...

Also did 240kg yoke 3x18m runs, 230kg frame carry 3x18m runs and a 100kg sled push 18m to finish off the moving events.

Feeling quite good although diet has been semi untracked.
Trying to drop weight but doesn't seem to be coming off so just keeping cals around 3000-3500 until December when I start a strength phase if I can get my knee to play ball.

Did a 39" box jump PB and a pull up ladder with a pull up at the top PB - never attempted it before.
Was quite surprised I got as far as I did.
Approx 140kg Bodyweight this morning so likely to be 145 or so clothed and fed.
