Nice work! What's your current BW?
Heavy. Very heavy. laugh
151.5kg in shorts this morning so probably 151kg or there abouts.
LOL - and I feel heavy at 96kg! Still, I managed 4 sets of 3 reps at 75kg this afternoon, which is an improvement on last time and about the same % of bodyweight as you so I don't feel quite so bad!

I jest- thats some strong pressing!

More swings with my ridiculous kettlebell today- more reps than last time, so I tried 1 handed- grip can’t quite take the swing yet! But it will- 1 arm 100kg swings will be quite a feat if I manage!
I've been thinking the same thing laugh
Using rougj estimates that seem to be pretty much accurate I should be good for a 150kg now but I'd suspect 140-145 is more realistic.
Still only at the start of a peak so we'll see!

I was 146kg when I was lifting the big weights. Hoping to be under 120kg on weigh day Friday. Aiming for about 112 eventually.
How are you finding it lighter?
I felt no better lol!
Good going on the weight loss!

The funny thing is I never feel heavy.
I can jump fairly high/far and can run pretty quick.
I don't feel big either laugh not sure if that will ever change (apart from feeling too fat anyway).

Nice strong shoulders/chest session at the gym, strongest I’ve been post lockdown getting closer to my pre lockdown numbers however I’m not in a rush to push things, what was pleasing about tonight was that my last reps looked identical to my first.

Also did a 1km swim in near dark foggy conditions, pleased with my progress.

Psychologically harder being smaller, as pathetic as that sounds, but physically better. Better sleep, less aches and pains, negligible knee problems. I have run doors for over thirty years and I think the size and strength thing was a crutch for me. Bloody useful if you can use it! At the grand old age of 51 I am starting a new career as a secondary school English teacher, so I no longer feel the same need to be big and strong, perhaps even on a subconscious level although I am stating it here!! Don't get me wrong, I'm still 19st and 6ft so not small...but its not the same!! I doubt I'll go back to heavy stuff now.

Changed things up this morning and split my jog with an 'exercise station', or park bench and table as some might call it. Leg raises, legs to chest, step ups onto bench for a few sets every lap...jeez, breathing out my ar$e. This will have to stay. Usually jog between 4 and 6 miles, 2 miles of this and my breathing was gone and felt knackered!! Thought I was getting fitter too!

Edit. Couldn't wait to weigh day tomorrow so just jumped on scales. Have eaten two light meals today and did the wee bit cardio above, but 118kg today, so 18.5 stone. Happy with that!!

I know that feeling!
I left the doors as my size just seemed to attract unwanted attention every single shift.
At least you're seeing the health benefits though, might end up feeling big again as you lean up.
You know you need to lift heavy stuff to be the cool teacher laugh

Give it a couple weeks now gyms are opening.
People will be selling and equipment will drop down to what it should be!

Gonna shoot for 110kg, but thats another 8 so it won't happen in next 4 weeks. Gyms gonna open up here after 31st so few months of gvt and spin etc might see me there, then I will start with slightly bigger weights again, but I'm resigned to the fact I'm not going to (my) heady heights again. You keep it up though man, getting great numbers and consistency.

Did some front squats for the first time in months. Not too bad.

Front squat: 3 x 5 @ 90kg; 1 x 3 @ 100kg
DB bench: 40kg x 8,8,11,8
T-bar rows: 80kg x 8,8,15,8. I think 15 reps is a PB there :-)

Some ab stuff and curls.

15 sets of rear delt exercises, in an overdue attempt to balance my delts overrall. Two months of 2x pw should do it. Now I have a cricked neck.

Are you saying you have had chips on your shoulder and a hard neck? smile

Seriously, I have one trap bigger than the other from years of staggered hand deadlift without switching. Its easy to do and not realise till its to late!!

yes For over three decades (give or take) I have failed to extend my left arm quite as straight as my right when performing lateral raises (of all kinds I think). The rear portion of my left medial delt is completely undeveloped and there's actually a kind of odd gap there next to the rear delt. Looks really odd under certain light!

I only discovered this this week.

Can someone send me a new spine, quads, hamstrings and soul please laugh
Yesterday:
3x8 @95kg log clean and press each rep
3x170kg per hand farmers holds - failed to pick it up 3x and nearly gave up, quads were just shot and mentally stopping me but after the first pick up it got easier to do it. Also tore a callus on the second set.
3x max distance farmers walk at 120kg per hand, last set approx 50m

Broken.

Circuits vs straight sets. Can any one shed some real world light on this article. I was thinking about switching to something like this to save a bit of time in the morning. Can circuit training be as effective for strength and hypertrophy as straight sets? Im guessing no but would like to see what people think. Thanks in advance

I would think for Bodybuilding it would be ideal if you are short on time. I can't see it working for strength training due to the longer rest periods needed.
