Nice chest and back sesh today, then a 20 minute swim in huge seas, on reflection not the wisest decision, then 45 minutes on Zwift, very pleased with how things are going.

That's a crazy amount of weight. How much difference is it with the deadlift suit? I've started using a weight belt and seems to be adding 10% easily.

Is it a safety thing with the suit? I'd love to understand the "assisted lifts" stuff. Is it to help you or make it safer?

I feel the belt helped my back not break so that's got to be a good thing!

Cheers!

Honestly at that height I'm not sure how much it helps as by the time the weight comes off the floor the suit is probably doing nothing but mentally I feel stronger in it hah.
Off the floor I get 40-50kg out of it.

Genuine monster. I can't imagine trying to pick up half a tonne.

Hah thanks!
Unfortunately I find myself wanting a lot more laugh

1300lbs would be a pretty big number to aim for!
But it's not on my plan currently, maybe a future aim after I've improved my basic lifts for England's.

Really feeling at a crossroads here. Had set myself a target of 17st and am drifting around 17st10- 18st week to week since the dreaded coronavirus. Its that old lack of motivation. And now my gym has closed. Not a big deal many might think but changing gym is a big deal for me, always has been. I am tempted to invest the first few months gym membership in some decent trail running shoes and warm clothing for cycling and hit the cardio big time, get down below 17stone. I feel the hassle of joining a gym when the likelihood, in my opinion, of them closing again for a month or more up here, is fairly probable, is just a hassle I can do without just now....but, but, I enjoyed my return last weekend. Decisions decisions.

Thinking of a return to the mat also, mates club does no gi ju-jitsu which would be a good attribute alongside my Judo (and art I have not practiced for about twenty years!).

It's just sod's law, that I finally set foot inside a gym for the first time in my life in January when the new PureGym opened here, with the aim of gaining some size at long last. And then I find I've only been able to use it for six out of ten months and now going to lose another month at least.

Maybe this whole thing was my fault!

was really enjoying being back in the gym regularly, was even doing some light cardio with 5/3/1

with a month of lockdown, and a 24kg kettlebell in the garage, I think its time to commit to this and see what happens

I done this in lockdown 1. Good luck. It isn't pleasant.

I opted for the 5 week version with ring pull ups or ring dips between sets of swings. Workout one was 500 swings with a 16kg bell and 30 chins/dips. Took around 45mins. Workout twenty was 300 swings with a 20kg bell and 200 swings with a 24kg bell and 50 chins/dips in around the same time. I suffered with lower back ache for the first week or so but that was down to poor swinging form. Gutted I never got to 500 swings with 24kg bell.

I'd do a big spell on cardio, hammer it between now and xmas then see where you're at.

Am inclined to agree, jogging, cycling and bodyweight exercises i can do at home. I have the offer of using the schools gym so will take a look at it tomorrow and see what they have. That would be very handy!

Squats, bench, landmine rows, incline bench and some pause bench.

Very happy with the training at the moment, going up rapidly in weights on all which is nice.

Ordered some Hola running shoes today so going to give this running malarky a go. Aiming for 100k during the lock down period. Tips welcome!

Current thinking is 5k for 20 of the days at lunch time.

I'm looking for some new running shoes too. Usually buy Salomon as they are a good fit, but looking at about a hundred quid...Hoka shoes are expensive too!

The Hoka ones if you buy direct have a 30 day love them or return them and they also seem to be the best for the feet in terms of injuries from what I have read. I picked up some Reebok McLaren ones years ago for £40 and they were incredible. Everything I've tried since even at double the price has never felt comfortable. Hopefully it's not just marketing but the reviews for the Hoka ones really do sound worth it.
