I'm def on the upward feeling now. Still have a bad cough which, as I'm coughing so much, causes me to get a headache. Honey, Ginger and lemon drinks soothe quite nicely, in conjunction with strepsils and industrial doses of painkillers. Codeine has done wonders for my sleep at night!

Still wobbly on my feet, don't get the shivers now but just get shattered. Yesterday I went out in the car with the missus and walked to pickup the kids from school (all of 5 minutes) and I was worn out!

I binged watched films that I've not seen, along with the McLaren documentary, the Grand Tour, old Gavin and Stacey (still brilliant) and stuff on iPlayer. Timed it all wrong for the Olympics though!

Just got back from the Docs. Advised it was classic influenza, the strain that has been in the news. He was a bit concerned that it had gone on for so long and was getting worse. He’s prescribed anti virals. Told me to go home and prepare for the rest of my family to get it. They are delighted. Should be a fun half term.

Bought some Lucozade. Always worked when my Mum bought it for me as a kid. Also, some weapons grade throat lozenges.

Now bored with Amazon Prime.. Have resorted to watching Winter Olympics. Strangely inspired to take up freestyle snowboarding. How hard can it be? Ibuprofen must b e working 😀

Anyone else had sinusitis after the flu? Thought I was done with illness but could feel sore teeth, then a blocked nose, and now a week later I’m just about clear of it having been dosing up on paracetamol for the pain and sudafed to try and clear it enough to sleep, I could handle the day ok.

Still look a bit ghostly, but I’ll really be glad when this is all done with!

I had flu last year, first time in about 10 years.

Nothing this year so far. Was dreading getting it again. Hopefully I’ll escape the current round.

Still coughing away. Had a day under 3 weeks off. Went back Tuesday and was ok till Thursday then caught a cold. Then it went straight back to my chest so off to the doctors on the Monday for antibiotics. Was 80/20 about work Tuesday but battled in. Wednesday though just felt awful so had the day off. Now a week and a half later Im puffing away on blue and brown inhaler while my chest is still rattling.

The flu would have been preferable.

So it’s nearly 6 weeks clear for me now and I’m still trying to get back to full fitness. My strength took a right battering and I’m only now back doing what I was in the gym, and even then it’s still way harder than it was then. Flu sucks!

Got it at the moment, started off with a sore throat early last week but can’t seem to fight off the infection. Not too bad in the day after taking paracetamol and sudafed but the fever comes on quite strong in the evening and night. Waking up at night soaked in sweat at times.

Been off work since last Thursday, thinking to go to my GP tomorrow. Hope I don’t need antibiotics, took them last year following an awful chest infection.
