Hi,

I'm looking to order some new Oakley sunglasses as I seem to have lost mine. I need prescription lenses, so it does limit my choices somewhat.

I really wanted the Oakley Prizm Deep Water Polarised lenses, but I've been told they don't them in prescription. They only offer the Deep Blue polarised lenses (not Prizm).

I want a pair for a variety of uses, namely boating (I work on boats), driving with the roof off (so a lot of direct sun in from above) and cycling off road on trails.

So I'm considering:

Deep Blue Polarised
Trail Prizm (not polarised)
Road Prizm (not polarised)

Maybe polaising is best if I'm on the water a lot of the time? I'm going on a driving holiday round Spain soon, so I'd like to make sure I have them in time for that. It's a lot of money to spend and I want to make sure I make the right choice. It may well be personal preference, but I'd be interested to hear from any experts that might be lurking on here!

Thanks,

Dan

Certainly not an expert but I bought some oakleys with Black Iridium Polarised (inc Back AR Coat) and use them for driving and on the water and am really pleased with them.

The frames are Oakley Straight jacket gun metal. Got them from RX Sport online and they were v quick and efficient but we’re made in the oakley factory apparently.

That's great, thanks! I was looking to order from RX Sport so that's good to know they were good. They're about £50 cheaper than the high street.

The Prizm Trail lenses are good for MTB, I tried a pair at a bike demo day, then ordered some when I got home - they were that good!

Unsure what lenses you are allowed with prescription but would recommend the Jade Iridium lenses or the Positive Red Iridium (also available in polarised).

The black iridium polarized really are quite dark so if it is slightly overcast (not that it would be in Spain but thinking of UK) then they are no go.

Great, thanks both.

Great service from RXSport who actually got back in contact with me after originally telling me that the Prizm Deep Water Polarized lenses weren't available. They told me that Oakley have now brought these lenses out in prescription as of last week, so I got a pair on order.

Hopefully they'll be good on the boats but also driving and on the trail. Looking forward to them arriving! smile
