It's weird though, I feel fatter now in a way as I'm very much aware of everything, before I was in complete denial/ignorance of how much I weighed.
Well done on you progress so far, a truly amazing commitment.

I dropped 30kgs (from 120 to 90) in 18 months, and since then I do notice my size much more than ever. One thing that motivates me (and made me get back on the diet when I went back to 99kg) is buying "normal" sized clothes. No longer do I need to get XXL but now it's L. The other thing I find really helpful (some people may hate it) is people asking if I have lost more weight... even if I have been a bit less strict.

Don't get obsessed, but once you get to where you want to be, just keep an eye on things and have a mental "take action" point... mine was 99kg and I waited a bit too long. The other trick was to buy something fitted - and then when you have to stop wearing it, it's time to have a re-evaulation.

First time eating out since the start of the year.

Brewers Fayre, burrito salad bowl with chicken and a pint. All in 942 calories.

I had been really looking forward to it so had been super healthy all day.

Breakfast was 40g rolled oats with skyer fat free yogurt mixed in and left in the fridge overnight.

Lunch was tuna on a rivita, boiled egg and two chicken sausages.

So along with my evening meal that’s 1700 calories. 120 under my daily allowance. Really proud because previously it would have been pizza or burger and chips. Cake for dessert and a couple of pints at least.

Need to up the exercise. I bloody hate exercise. It was sherwood pines evening ride tonight but dinner with the misses was more important (she’s working away for a few weeks so we both had to drive an hour to meet in the middle.

Someone will no doubt be along momentarily to chide you about there go your losses and how long it will take running to burn off the pint. Personally, I say well done. You knew there was a meal like that coming up, accounted for it in your eating over the rest of the day and enjoyed having something nice to eat thumbup

Cheers Ed, well done on your loss. Yes that all rings true smile It's nice to be into "normal" shops and sizes again now I'm XL and not in the big and tall department. Got some good money for some of my old gear on ebay which was cool. And yes I've got no problem with people asking me if I've lost weight biggrin Take action point sounds like a good idea. I'm going to see how I feel at 100kg so see if I need/want to go lower.

So if I can actually get out of work at a sensible time I’ve apparently got to go for a birthday meal for my fiancé’s brother this evening...a curry!

Trying to work out what’s the healthiest way of doing things, especially as I’m not the greatest fan of tandoor chicken...

Initial thoughts were either a mushroom or spinach side with a non-cream dish e.g Rogan/Bhuna? And cut out the rice/bread?

Tarka Dahl (lentils) would be my choice. Maybe use a base of bombay potatoes instead of bread/rice. Still carbs i know, but you could have fewer tats to make the intake less.
Or see if they do a chickpea curry?
Finally, why do you not like chicken tandoor -is it the taste and or texture? Sone Indians do paneer cheese as a vege alternative. This when done as a tandoor is very tasty. Paneer Tika is very very nice. It is high in protein as well.

Just personal really - not to sure, if its with something that has a little sauce its fine, chicken plus rice is likely going to be very dry (was last time I had it). Chicken plus the chickpea curry and veg. could work well though smile

What about a jalfrezi, no sacue as such but not dry due to quite a bit of veg; very tasty too.

As an aside, to the curry thing, I make curries from scratch; when required I have always substituded single cream for low fat natural yoghurt; less calories (about a third less) and not as "heavy" or rich and just as tasty.

Sorry to butt into the great curry debate - I'm another that makes my own at home now and have a great recipe for a dopiaza or a turkey jalfrezi

Anybody looking for great low fat recipe ideas, try a website called a pinch of nom

2 weeks in on Slimming World and I've lost 9.5lbs

Lost just over 3 stone last year on it so know that it works for me but crept back up in the second half of 2018. Onwards to target (15st 10lbs) - just over 3st to go!

I mentioned it earlier, but worth repeating in respect of the curry chat - for those eating at home (from scratch, ready meal or takeaway) I really do recommend trying broccoli "rice" as an alternative... doesn't really taste, nice dry texture for sauce (like a good basmati) and it's dead simple to food process half a head of broccoli and pan fry on a high heat for 3-4 mins.

Cauliflower rice is a good shout for these purposes as well.

So do you literally just whizz the head (trees as my youngest used to call them) in a blender and dry fry it?

Sounds hateful doesn't it? hehe

Brown or Wild Rice is fine, full of complex carbs too

Sounds lovely to me but then I’d happily eat a vegetable curry over a meat one.

Had a terrible week for food, went out for a 30th birthday and drank many pints, then my mums 65th so more big meals and beers, im really not looking forward to Fridays weigh in, but, i have to be honest and consistent and get it done....

One saving grace is the steam room has been busy at the gym with the post xmas turkey burners so I have been spending extra time in the swimming pool rather than 10 mins in there then the hot tub.

Yeah, not so sure, it sounds like something that my vegan mum would extol the virtues of, all the while not sounding too convinced herself, my diet generally is very good with pretty much zero takeaways and crap, so the odd bit of white basmati every 2 weeks won't do me any harm.

Coming off a bit 16.11 down to 16.8.

I am looking at new scales, we have some digital body composition ones and to be honest I forget what I weigh sometimes, but also I am interested in the body fat and other metrics it gives you, but have no chance of remembering those.

So, was wondering if anyone has used/got any scales that sync with your phone and record your weight and other stuff every time you get on them.

I am going to the gym and do a fair bit of weight training, I just like lifting weights but it isnt great for weight loss, i can tell more in my clothes and stuff but it would be interesting to see the muscle and fat percentages over time, I know they arent massively accurate but it does seem to go in the right direction when I drop fat, was going to manually write it down but that will never happen. Want to just get on and the data get squirted automatically to my phone.

I think it would be a good motivator.

Currently 27.2 % body fat and 38 percent muscle.
