I drove past it on my way home and the smell wafting across the road as I waited at the traffic lights was luring me in. But I resisted and continued on home, however with some carefully calculated man maths silly I could actually get away with a very lightly battered fish on its own. I've since discovered there was a chicken breast in the fridge left over from yesterday so I've just nuked that for 2.5 mins and given it some salt and butter which has solved the problem.

No excuses needed! spin

They can grill a fish for you if you ask. Lessen the guilt you would feel...

Well after a dissapointing weekend diet wise.

Breakfast
40g oats with 150g fat free yogurt.

Lunch
1xmorrisons whole meal thin with turkey slice and 1 teaspoon of mayo.

Dinner
4x grilled chicken sausages.
1/3 tin of baked beans
2 x tomato grilled
150g of mushrooms fried in 5 sprays of fry light.
1egg poached.

Snacks
1x boiled egg
1xbanana
1xapple

It’s lacking green veg but it’s one good I mostly detest.

Phys - None, I had arranged to play my mate at badminton but he pulled out last minute. I’m not a big fan of exercise so try and do it as sport.

Strutted in to the livingroom tonight I’m just my boxers, told the mrs to whip the measuring tape out.

We’ve both been trying to lose weight but been pretty sporadic with the measurements, mostly cause it’s more her thing than mine, I pretty much just go off what the scales say. Anyways, decided to get some more data whilst updating some other stuff.

Lost a total of 6.5 inches since the start of our weight loss mission on the 3rd.

It’s actually quite useful for confirming what you think your clothes are telling you in terms of looseness. Measure chest, waist, hips, thighs and biceps.

MB not sure that 3 eggs per day is going to help you lose weight when you're not doing a keto diet. Eggs are really high in fat are they not?

Finally been able to do some exercise now I’ve shifted the cough I had. Did a 3.5 mile bike ride on Saturday before my hands went blue and I had to bail out and this evening I’ve been for a little run, 1.8 miles, not the best speed but I managed to run twice as far as before before slowing to walking so I’m getting better. My aim before the end of feb is to be able to do the same route without stopping, then build up more and more so I’m ready for my 10K in September!

That's true, but when you spot those freshly cooked chips and scraps sitting there it can all go south very rapidly eek . It's best for me if I just keep driving wink.

Sorry edited it I meant to put apple so I only had two eggs. 1 poached and I boiled. I’m using MFP tracking calories. Today has been 1500cal so a little low. I should be eating 1820 which should give a 1.5 - 2lb loss per week. I know eggs are bad for cholesterol.

We buy medium eggs and MFP puts them at 60cal each which seems to agree with a google search.

Hi all,

Checking in with my first weeks weigh in. 131.2kg which is a 3.8kg loss. I have bought new better scales during the week so I can’t tell if all of that loss is true weight loss or how much is the scales measuring differently but this will give me a good base.

An up and down week for my diet as it started off last Tuesday with a Dominos my wife had ordered (I logged it all on MFP and didn’t eat my usual amount so that’s progress). On Sunday my wife’s family had cooked me a birthday lunch so had to politely decline the wine and only eat a small piece of pudding.

Other than that it has been ok and I managed to still average out at 1800 calories a day for the week. Also managed 3x 40 min sessions on the turbo trainer and some good walks with the dog and kids.

I did the weekly shop yesterday so have stocked the fridge with healthy food so hopefully this week will be a bit better! Sorry for a smuggy looking scales, I’ll have to give them a wipe but was mostly focused on my reflection not being in the photo biggrin

Hovering at 16 st 8, but I tend to think as long as I keep focus it happens, in the past I got despondent if I didn't drop and cocky if I did, if I have 2000 calories or less, I lose weight, it is not possible if I am accurate as a sixteen stone, six foot plus bloke who is fairly active not to.

I find I just need to relax into an eating regime, quite comfortable with no booze and I think I may carry that on apart from special occasions until I hit my target weight, then maintain from there, rather than drop a bit feel a bit better and revert.

I need to get to how I thought before, that what makes you happy is feeling slim, fit and comfortable in your clothes, its hard to achieve where a takeaway and beer is instant gratification.

My weigh in is supposed to be tomorrow however I forgot to pack the scales before leaving for work for a few days so it will be delayed onto Thursday morning. The good news is I have continued to be good food wise while away, food has been basic but passable. Dinner tonight is a Tesco Simple Salad (43 cals), Tesco reduced fat prawn cocktail (242 cals) and a dash of salad dressing (12 cals) with a Fibre One Choc Fudge Brownie (90 cals) so dinner for 387 cals. Lunch was a salad pot with chickpeas at about 70 cals. No calories in liquids which have all been fizzy water. Yesterday was much the same with a yogurt for breakfast. Not as much exercise though, cold weather, long days, crappy drives have killed the motivation for it. Still making sure I get 30 minutes of walking in though.

I miss Doritos hehe

Updated the table. 1 kilo lost this week... Would have been more but I well and truly binged last night on crisps and chocolate (I know). I suspect next week will be a weight gain as this weekend will involve a lot of drinking with the lads but will try to minimise it.

Well, after a rather naughty weekend, the plan was to get back on track this week.

Finishing off the remains of the Chinese takeaway for Monday lunch wasn’t the healthiest option, but chicken is pretty lean (we’ll ignore the batter/fat surrounding it).

Ended up having to go to Frankie & Benny’s last night for a meeting so grabbed dinner there, steakhouse salad is a thumbs up from me if anyone finds themselves in such a position. 7oz steak on a bed of salad with some chilli dressing, only 350 calories. Pint of Peroni took away some of the healthiness but a bowl of olives as a starter made it 2:1 to healthy choices.

So, -1.7kg this week, that brings the total loss to 4.8kg / 10.5lb. Weightloss has been pretty consistent at around 1.6kg per week.

Running a rolling 3 day average to help weed out anomalies from my scales measuring limitations, bodyfat is down 2%.

Up 0.4Kg this week. Disappointed but if I'm honest with myself, my diet hasn't been as good as it could have. Also struggling to get in as much cycling now the temperature has taken a dive.

My strategy for the week ahead is to keep the diet nice and clean and make sure I'm riding at least every other day, no matter the mileage.

keep up the good work folks!

Another week and another kg off, averaging 7 miles a day 12,000 steps so even managed to sneak a few rums into the mix.

Another week done. Down 400g. Not much but heading in the right direction.

Now on my third day of using MyFitnessPal and documenting EVERYTHING. Aiming for 1500 calories a day and trying to hit the (simplified) macro guide on there.

Weirdly the main gains don’t seem to have translated to the scales. Just wish I’d taken a proper before photo for comparison!

Starting to notice the weight dropping from my face. Slimming world weigh-in Friday and expecting another big loss. As an addictive person this has become my latest obsession, will get bored of it sooner or later biggrin

I'm weighing in Friday morn, will be 13 days since previous. Expecting a decent result, I can feel and see the difference. Was out for dinner both Friday and Saturday, but they were planned in since December for my birthday, so I won't be beating myself up over that. I generally have one treat meal/night a week in weight loss, if I didn't I expect I would go mental/quit very quickly.
