Any danger is draining own scalp cyst?
Discussion
I had a cluster of sebaceous Cysts on my scalp which I had to pay privately to have surgically removed. Years later, another one has appeared on the other side of my head and has grown quite big. I can’t afford to pay to have it removed like the last ones. I’m tempted to sterilise a sharp needle and poke a small hole through the scalp so I can squeeze the contents of the cyst out. I know that this wouldn’t be a permanent fix and it would re-fill itself, but I just wondered if this was a safe/sensible thing to do for some relief? It is a rock hard highly pressurised lump under my skin and I don’t think it would take much to burst it. My GP has confirmed that it is a seb cyst and that there’s no funding to have it removed on the NHS unless it’s causing me problems which it isn’t.
If you're going to do it at least buy a proper scalpel & sterilising wipes so you don't end up with an infection.

Going by the Dr Pimple Popper videos on YT you'll need more than a needle hole to get the gunk out.

If I use a scalpel it’ll need stitching back together! Don’t see how a little pin hole won’t do the trick when it’s so highly pressurised.https://www.amazon.co.uk/Swann-Morton-Disposable-S...

You only need a small incision - 5mm or so. The gunk can be really thick & a needle hole is very small. There's plenty of video on YT.You can get some really nasty infections when you puncture the skin so at least sterilise the area.
Reminds me of a funny story when I went in for a second time to have a an infected subepidermal cyst removed after they didn't get it all out first time, a lad from up at RAF Leeming was in for what he said was a similar thing and was a bit worried, oh yes said the wife, you should be and proceeded to show him the picture from a couple of days after my first op when I got it dressed at the doctors.
The poor bloke went white and went to sit back down on his bed, eventually the wife left and as soon as she did the fella made a beeline straight back over and asked me did they warn me about the damage from the operation at all and could I have a look at his, at that point the surgeon appeared for a previsit which was a bit of good and bad timing to see the lad at my bedside with his todger out which he thought was going to be butchered like my back. The surgeon quickly explained the difference between beneath the skin cysts and those in the skin and everyone was happy. Mind you his wife might not have been as he had a kind of in-built ribbed condom going on.

It's fully healed now, the hole after the second op was a bit bigger. The awkward thing is that the resultant scar is very similar to one which might be incurred by one of the brave lads in our armed forces. I've been asked a couple of times by service personnel, when on holiday sans shirt, about when I got shot, the embarrassment is compounded by the fact it's not a bullet wound and it's in my back which indicates I'd be running away, It generally leads to a few beers though as we're close to RAF Leeming and the Catterick Army base so a lot of the military have spent some time up here.

Now that’s an easy fix. Come up with a better story!More general the better and make sure you drop in a couple of times “I don’t like to talk about it much. It brings back bad memories”.
Maybe you were taking a bullet for someone else?
