sanatize your hands then the check out worker handles all the shopping so its like shaking hands with them and all the previous customers
Do you stick your finger up your nose regularly while packing away? If not, there's no problem there. Sanitise again once the transaction is complete and wipe shopping down with a soapy rag once you get home if you're bothered.
im not overly bothered , just getting to the point that the check out operators hands are the the dirtiest thing during your supermarket visit

then going off on that point you dont hear of till operators dying in huge numbers so yeah i dunno , im of the get along with it and use a bit of common sense when i can crowd
They seem to have hand gel at every checkout...

Iv been handling loads of "infected money" since lockdown. I'm certain iv touched my face during that time without knowing, I'm alive and uninfected. I litterly watch supermarket staff take money, then scratch eye/nose/face. Yet not many are pegging it. Imo enough evidence right there to show it's time to get on with life.

I also witnessed a woman refilling her hand gel tub with aldi's one you can use as you come in. Wont be long until that's taken away anyway haha.

They'll get rid of the checkout workers next. All self service. "For safety".

I wouldn't be surprised if the contactless limit doesn't get increased again either on cards or for things like ApplePay.

I'm sure there will always be limits but it's gone up to £45 and you'd assume banks and industry are keeping track of the average transaction to see what might be appropriate.

I'd assume there are ways to be smart about it i.e. increase the contactless limit to £100 but restrict to supermarkets?

If someone can get into my iPhone to activate ApplePay good luck to them as they'd pretty much need to be holding my head biggrin
I don't know for sure about Apple Pay but Google Pay has no limit to contactless.

I used to do a lot of work in food processing sites, you had to wash your hands before entering the processing areas, taps were turned on with a lever at knee height operated with your leg which always seemed very sensible

I have thought similar but it's only like using a public toilet and having to open the door on the way out....or touching literally anything public that could be covered in who knows what. For that reason, it doesn't particularly bother me.

What annoys me considerably more is having to queue for the shop then squeezing past the shop worker stood in the doorway ushering people in.

Sadly having the opposite effect on me. The queues and sanitiser nonsense mean that I shall not be visiting physical shops, I shall use Amazon/Ebay even more.

Wow, How did you know all of those checkout staff have CV19?

And you have CV19 and handed money to checkout staff and let them touch their face?

Same with Apple Pay but it depends on the terminals/retailer, our local ASDA has a £45 limit on all contact less transactions regardless of Apple or Google pay or contact less card. Tesco, £45 for contact less card, no limit on Apple or Google pay

As I understand it, Apple Pay has no limit either, limits are imposed by retailers or card service providers.

Yes, and as I understand it that limit is imposed not by Apple Pay but by Tesco or their card service provider.

Just check with mrs geeks as I was sure Tesco had the limit lifted and it would appear you are correct. Might have been Morrisons I was thinking of apparently
