I am looking to start using dumbbells, can you please suggest a weight I should start with? I am looking to tone and general wellbeing rather than getting big arms.
I'm not an expert but generally the correct weight for general health and fitness is sufficient that you can do between 8 and 12 repetitions before failure. It's always a spikey subject though as everyone has different goals and whatnot, as well as different opinions.

I've always found this a good source of information

Also for home workouts this guy has written an entire website about it.

No worries smile

Well that's my redundancy official. However looks like I've got another 6 months at least before I will leave. I may be in the strange position of helping set up our new office, just before I leave. Strange times.

Great news. I always take redundancy if offered as you know it will happen anyway and the package is always better at first offer smile

Blimey feel terrible today!

Has just occurred to me (not that I can really remember the blur of the last 2 months since Christmas, which was a fantastic 2 weeks reset getting back in touch with the “mothership” i.e friends and family and personal time...) that I’ve spent pretty much every weekday in the same loop.

Wake up 5 mins before I have to log on.... do so in bed and snooze for another half an hour with the laptop on the floor, up and two strong coffees which gives me a 20 minute burst of motivation, then flat, slovenly apathy all day getting the bare minimum done interspersed with mindlessly surfing the net, walk down to the shops at 4pm to get crap food and beer, drink them and feel a little bit of motivation and write my to do list for tomorrow, stuff my face with crap, watch ste on Netflix, bed...... then too hungover to wake up early as I promised the night before and do the same again and get zero done on the list.

I know I’d feel better going out for a run or a walk or just eating well.... but I just can’t be arsed!!!

Only 31 but look like a fat, pasty, blotchy, ill, scruffy mess recently. Can’t wait for this to be over haha

Dreaming of lying on a sandy beach on an island South East Asia somewhere, with no fking phone or laptop anywhere near me and nothing to think about other than whether I want to go jet skiing or motorcycling this afternoon smile

Understood. The prospect of the vaccination being carried out seemingly so smoothly does at least offer us some hope though.

Those that prefer to wear masks and hide behind the sofa need professional help more...
Yesterday I was informed losing my career and not seeing Mrs.Guitar for a year is 'my own fault'.

I am not going to be told today that I am 'hiding behind the sofa', and nobody here, am pretty confident, 'prefers to wear a mask'.

We're all stressed, and it's clear this has affected some more than others, and understandably so, but a modicum of respect wouldn't hurt when posting.

Thanks in advance.
