I was doing just swings and goblet squats, but then I decided I needed to do a bit more so jumped on YT.
So far I've done Caroline Girvan's 15-minute and 30-minute workouts a few times - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VCcar3MA07w - and then I found this chap and have tried this a couple of times - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVA4Z_Zxlkk
I prefer Caroline's for obvious aesthetic reasons, but also because she previews the next exercise. I lose 10 seconds or so watching what the chap does at the start of each exercise. But his I think is better for what I'm after - I run 2 x 5k and 1 x 10-12k a week, so I'm not too worried about my lower body. It's my upper Dad-bod I'd like to get shot of!
You might find that your running benefits from the kettlebell training. Your arms and all of your body are used whilst running. People with a strong trunk can often maintain better posture whilst running.

I'd not followed any YT kettlebell videos, but you inspired me as I had planned to do some short circuit training before dinner.
After warming up with skipping and clubs for 10 mins, I've just followed this 20 minute one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88FoUUl6buU&ab...
-with a 16Kg, rather than the PH standard 36Kg
Quite easy to follow, with previews of the next set, and sweat-inducing.

I would also agree that anything below 20kg will quickly be useless, although I do suppose that depends on your strength and conditioning to start with.
This being PH, we all clean & press and snatch 60Kg kettlebells for sets of 30, of courseJordan cast iron kettlebells are decent. I have a 12, 16 and 20kg KB.
exercises:
KB swing (Russian/American)
Snatch
Single arm push press
GTOH
Hang clean
Thruster
Hang cluster
Single arm bench press
Goblet squat
Get ups
I’ve had mine years, but only started using them when I took up CrossFit. They are really versatile.

You did kick off the bks about how this is PH and everyone cleans xxkg and totally taking my comment out of context.
These things always descend into showing off. Ideally it should be about encouraging people who are interested to start training, not about how much other people can lift. That can stay in the training thread.

I’ll stick to the training thread though, you know best.

I'm not wasting any more time on you. Have at it.
OP - apologies.

It wasn’t showing off ffs, it was supposed to be an amusing comment..... You seem to have a chip on your shoulder, so carry on... I put my thoughts on what to do earlier on- the op has a training history, and 12kg won’t cut for him with in a fortnight of use.

This is at least part of what I had in mind when I made my comment - knowing LG's history from the training thread.I’ll stick to the training thread though, you know best.

Pavel Tsatsouline is the daddy of kettlebell training. Have a look at Enter The Kettlebell on youtube. If you can see through the st humour then it is a very good video at teaching the basics.
Da comrade. I watched that last night.
I've ordered the 16 KG 'Original' KB, just waiting for delivery now...
It's expensive but as it'll probably be a paperweight in six weeks, I got a pretty one.

I have two 16kg KBs and they serve the purpose of keeping the Erg mat from slipping. I wish I had bought some lighter ones.I watched that last night.

Wel, if you are giving them away... had thought about buying a second 16Kg last year for two handed exercises, but then the pandemic started and prices rocketed, so I didn't.
I do use a 16 and a 24 in two hands for some exercises, but swings might be a bit out of balance!
